etsy browse, how do you feel?

My views dropped dramatically today. I don't know if it happens to be a coincedence because of the browse feature now... (it doesn't list paper goods or cards)

how do you feel about it?

Not good at all...I pay for ads and I don't even know what I'm paying for anymore. I can't find myself ANYWHERE! I was doing really well for a new shop too. :(

It is kind of an artsy time waster. Pretty but impractical if you are actually shopping to buy.

It looks like pinterest and I don't really like the look. As for being found, they don't have enough subcategories and my items most likely won't surface until after the first fifty or so pages, if I'm lucky. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll tweak it more, or just say it was a test and remove it. Maybe I'm hoping for too much.

I just browsed the jewelry section. I like the look, but the categories seem incomplete. How will people find my simple stud earrings? They don't fit into any of the options.

For now, I'll just sit back and see what happens with views/sales.

In the browse section from the front page, Art seems hand picked by ETSY. Not relevancy or most recent.
I checked some of the listings that were on the front page... and they stay there.

I have about 50% of my shop listed as beaded earrings. when i go to the jewelry section, beaded earrings aren't under the search anywhere that i can find. I guess I'll be changing the tags on a lot of my earrings tonight to see if they come up... arrrggghhh.... views have not dropped, so I guess someone is finding them somehow... I'm so confused :-(

Agreed- not user friendly. Hopefully buyers will ignore the new browse the way Etsy claims they ignored the old categories, and just stick to searches. This browse is so badly conceived- so convoluted. I've even seen buyers post about it- and I've never seen that.

I have about half the views I normally do and I used to show up on the first few pages. Now I am all the way back on page 8 in browse. It does seem to change frequently, though. I have been periodically checking and I go from being between page 4 and 8, different items each time.

I am still taking it all in, researching, and trying to figure out my plan of action to get back on top :)

I can't find myself anywhere in any of the categories even going back like 10 pages in... which is a little scary....

Think the jewelry category is lacking sufficient sub categories. Can't see how this will help any shop except the ones they hand pick!!! Personally I hate the look.

I'm pretty angry. In "Art" they have two big sections for oil paintings and watercolor paintings, but not an acrylic section. You have to notice the tiny little blue word in the top - "paintings" and then go to acrylic.

I just don't know why acrylic is being singled out.

So I'm pretty annoyed.

This is awful, I am glad though I am not the only one frustrated. I am hoping that etsy gets the message and tweaks whatever needs to be tweaked.

I agree - and am hoping buyers do stick to Search....at least I show up on the first few pages that way! Couldn't find anything in Browse......

Geez - with the amount of complaining I have seen on the threads since they started this.....how can Etsy continue? I have seen maybe 0.5% of the comments as being positive. If there are still bugs to work out they should not have released it to the public.

Just my 2 cents - off to tweak titles/tags :)

I've done a lot of work with relevancy. I just got to the point of getting steady favorites, and sales. Now NOTHING. I had 3 hits today. I'm not even sure that one of them isn't me. I'm heartbroken. Absolutely heartbroken. Now what?

Oh it prob wont change Etsy will do what they want no matter how much we complain. We are doomed. Prob gonna have to start looking for a new venue soon :(

As a buyer and a seller I'm also having a hard time either searching for specific items or trying to find my store items. Very frustrating and not user friendly. :(

wow. I just looked through there and it makes no sense! I've been having to deal with the "weddings" section being like this for awhile, but why are "greeting cards" under Home & Living???? Also, I see they have "Pet Furnishings" but how do you get to pet toys from there? You don't. And I seem to see phone cases under more than one of the browse options, I see it under womens, home & living, and mens. AND then it gets it own category right on the front list as well??? Why does that one thing get to be in 4 different places and many others are NOWHERE???
