eCheck payment

Hi friends,

Would you please tell me what differentiation between eCheck payment and Paypal?

My buyer using eCheck payment, I got notification in my email that said it usually takes about 3-5 days to receive the payment.

Re: eCheck payment

Echeck is just another form of Paypal payment. It's not instant like a normal payment and so can take time to clear into your account. You just have to wait until Paypal inform you that the eCheck has cleared before you send their goods. It normally takes 3-5 days but sometimes it's taken up to 10 days for me.

Re: eCheck payment

It is a secure way to pay instead of giving Paypal their credit card number they give a checking account & routing number and it generates an eCheck. They do take about 5 business days to be cleared but Paypal will message you once it has been cleared. DO NOT SEND ITEMS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECIEVED CONFIRMATION.

Re: eCheck payment

It's more like a direct payment from bank to bank instead of using a third party paypal account. Hopefully it runs smoothly for you. As far as I know, it's only being run in the States right now so I don't have the option yet.

Re: eCheck payment

No e-cheques (as we call them here in the UK) are an option that is widely available around the world. Cross border e-cheques usually take longer to clear by a few days but the guide on when it is likely to clear in the payment confirmation email is usually spot on.

You need to set up your PP account to accept e-cheques or you might just never have received a payment that way.

Re: eCheck payment

It is but definitely don't send out until the payment has cleared as has already been said as very occasionally they don't clear - so a bouncy e-cheque!

Re: eCheck payment

When you look at your sold items, it will tell you if the item is paid for or not. If is says Paid, then it should be safe to ship the item. If it says the sale is Unpaid, wait until the payment clears. PayPal will say Pending and gives you a date that the payment should clear. Make sure that you notify the customer that you will ship the item once the payment has cleared, and keep checking PayPal to see if it is still pending. The date they give you is usually accurate, but always check to make sure before shipping.
