do you reward a customer for huge purchase?

I have a customer who has now purchased several hundred dollars of product in the last month and would really like to express my gratitude but she refuses to use a coupon code (send a nice email explaining that wants me to get the full price for my items).

I was wondering if anyone ever sends freebies or something to show thanks and if so what they do!

for customers who order large amounts, or are repeat customers, I definitely throw in a little extra - it's a great way to say thanks!

If someone purchases from me at three different times I often include a small handmade item by me in their package as just a small token for being a great repeat customer.

I think sending a little something as a sign of appreciation is great customer service and it strengthens customer loyalty.

I haven't had any repeat customers thus far, but that is awesome that you have found such a loyal fan! :) If she refuses to use a coupon code, a little "thank you" item in her next order may not be a bad idea.

Whenever I send out an order, I always enclose a hand-written "thank you" note along with a coupon for their next purchase. Of course, no one has used it...but it's there :)

funny you should ask! I just made my 100th sale and I sent my customer a special extra gift (worth about the same as the item she bought!)

Sometimes when I order beads from people they sometimes include little freebies of something cute and random. It is always a nice surprise! :-)

With your pretty line of items, I would simply include an extra one, but with the customer's initials added.

It would be a nice surprise, plus it would be personal.

I have a few excellent customers and they get a subscription to their favourite crafting magazine from me at Christmas each year.

These are people who have supported me since I began the business many years ago.

I had a woman who ordered in bulk in my folksy shop (folksy.com/shops/rainbowhart) so I gave her a 20% discount off her total.
I suppose it's a little more difficult for you since she wants to pay full. She must really appreciate your work =] The customer who ordered from me wanted 50 polymer donuts, so to say thanks I added in a few extra little polymer treats =]
I wouldn't bring it up too much with your loyal customer, as I'm sure she really appreciates your kind offer of a discount. She knows the offer's there, which is good. Thank you notes are always appreciated too =]

I do! I remember my first purchase here on Etsy I received a small freebie. It was an unexpected and a very pleasant surprise!

I've ordered about 4 pcs from an artist on Etsy (two total transactions), and she threw in a magnet with her painting on it in the last one.

I always thank a customer with a little something in the box, but certain customers who have purchased a lot will get a discount. If they won't/don/t use the code, you can still give it to them with a partial Paypal refund. I have refunded a percentage or the shipping as a Thank You, and the customers are always grateful, pleasantly shocked and often back for more.

I've thrown in freebies for repeat or bulk-buying customers. Even if it's just a little token item, it's nice. It's usually a cookie cutter or some small kitchen gadget, since I specialize in vintage kitchenwares.

Sara, it is always best to send a little something extra when someone buys a certain dollar amount from you....don't ask them...just place a thank you card in the package with their order with the little something extra. It is always a nice gesture, even if it is the first time they buy from you. That's what I do.

I would send a little something. Maybe you send in a few weeks after the sale as a surprise?
