customer feedback

I was wondering what everyone's experience is with customer feedback. I've noticed that a fair amount of customers don't leave feedback. Out of 51 sales, I've only had 15 reviews. Is this normal?

I would say it is pretty much normal. In both my shops, I got at the beginning less than 1/4 but it started growing a little after that. I think it hovers between 1/3 and 1/2. It's not very predictable but I tend to get more in my handmade shop than in my vintage shop.

In my shop is normal, I have 505 sales and only 153 feedback.

That's sounds normal to me. A lot of customers are satisfied with their purchases but it's not a thing they do. Some customers prefer to send you a private message which is really nice.

As long as you do your best to supply quality items and you don't get any complaints, I would say you are fine.

No news is good news. I used to get about half, but since the switch to stars, it is much less.

Actually, my feedback has increased since the stars were introduced. But nowadays, I get more private messages. I cannot see patterns really.

Except....I've noticed that customers who purchase from mobile phones are less likely to leave feedback. And if I have communication with buyers regarding a custom order, they are more likely to send me a message than leave feedback.

My first sale was to my cousin, and she didn't leave feedback. I think customers don't realize that they need to. It's so important to us, but not so much to a customer. Etsy could try reminders. Amazon does this.

Yep totally normal. I have almost 5000 sales and close to 2000 reviews.

Yeah, I only have one review! I know that I get reminders when I log into Etsy to do reviews for when I make purchases. However, I know people don't always log into Etsy to see they need to do a review. I put a note in my shipping note when I send the tracking number telling people to come back and leave a review hoping that helps.

I think they have a hard time trying to find where to leave feedback. I had someone message me and tell me that they could not leave feedback. They said there was not an option. It is not easy for them to find. That could be the problem but I am not positive about it. I am just going by my experience.

I also think it depends on your customer base... Young, old, men or women. I find a certain demographic leaves less feedback. Also new to Etsy customers often don't leave feedback.
That's ok with me, if they just sign up to purchase from me, I have no complaints and I am glad for their business.
