Lovey shop! Your photos look great against the fence and I love your products. You should round your prices to even numbers. I hate seeing .99 on Etsy. It reminds me of a discount store. I would also revisit your tags. Think about what you would type in if you were looking for that exact dress.

Be more specific, like knee length dress, or 1950 style dress, 1950 style clothing, flower dress.

Tags like fall, poppy, ruffle won't help.

Good luck!

Lovely shop!

- You need to work on your tags/keywords.
Single worded tags don't do much for you in search. You want to use all important search word combinations a buyer might use to find your items. You want them repeated in your item titles, item tags and item descriptions.
Get ideas from this Tag Game: http://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/10777277/

- You want to have the same background for all of your listing pictures, so your shop has an eyecatching cohesive look. The wooden fence isn't doing it. It doesn't make your items pop.
If possible, go for an all white background. But I know that involves a lot of extra work. So perhaps have a piece of neutral fabric as a backdrop for your pictures.

Wishing you many sales!

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

hello, as a treasury maker, i would say that your backgrounds are kind of busy. could you try an indoor shoot with some neutral backgrounds? also it would be awesome to see the entire garment in the thumbnail photo. your work is lovely, i think it is only a question of getting your work seen more often around etsy, and that usually means treasuries and Front Page :)

sorry if i sound like a one trick pony, it's just what seems to work ;)

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

A one trick pony. That peaked my ears a little, or maybe my eyes... I just don't hear it much. There's infinite ways to do anything in this world and infinite ways to get what you want.

// First, KNOW what you want. Meditate on it. Clear your mind.

// Then see yourself with it, you have it, you are one in the same.

// Don't dwell on how to get what you want, the ideas and answers will just come. The universe gives you what you need if you are open.

One trick pony, no such thing. The universe is infinite. Etsy related - Pictures are totally important. I find descriptions to be very important too, especially when buying clothes. Trends are important to know a little about if you want to have good keywords. For instance, a cowl is a neck warmer is an infinity scarf... what do people call it? Something that helps me a lot is blog features. And having a blog too. I'm getting REALLY into blogging, because for me it's more important to share knowledge, spread the love, teach and learn from others... these things are more important than money. :) I do love to make handmade crafts available to people on the internet to buy though! I'm just trying to figure things out myself.. and there you have it.

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

You've got great dresses and they look really cute on you. (I assume you're the model)

I guess I'm in the minority. I like the simple poses in front of the fence, but I'd use the same part of the fence for every item so it has a more cohesive look.

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

As a buyer ... I prefer the outdoor photos. The ones with the grass in the background are my favorite. I do not like the indoor photos, but that's me who wears comfy clothes inside. But really the grass and outdoor look really brings out the DRESS look. *I'm a cute girl in this super cute handmade dress and I'm going to twirl around in the nice spring air.* That's what I think and then I want that dress.

And the baby on the blanket on the grass - so cute! Better than seeing someone's living room, I think.

I would appeal more towards the buyer and not Etsy popularity, as it were.

Cute shop!

That's how I perceived the photos too. :)

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

okay, so back and forth. I prefer outdoor pictures as well because the lighting (for my stuff) is better, I am going to start getting more creative with the pictures and drag some chairs and things outside for props. We have this one spot by us that I am going to use more for pictures with a grass walkway in the background...

I think I really need to change some of my tags because the I just reopened again again after having my (5th) baby...( I took a year off)....When I left ETSY poppy flowers were huge, and I just happened to have several poppy items....so that tag brought in a lot. I feel like I can think of about 5-7 really good tags and then get stumped, and just start making things up.

Does anyone have any suggestions for "good tags" for my items....
I know there is a large group of people that would like my things. They just need to be able to find me.

Any more tips?

Tag ideas. Think more phrases then single words

Did anyone say the writing in the banner needs to go? Too small to read anyway.

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

OH---that's great advice!!

I was thinking I need to get a new banner---

Also the picture right there <------
should I change it, and put a product instead? I thought we were supposed to put a picture of ourselves?

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

I think your profile pic is fine. A lot of sellers use a picture of themselves.

Re: constructive critism too---The UGLY

Play up the fact your items are handmade. At first, I thought they were vintage. I never give vintage items a second look online, because I've had too many bad shopping experiences! I suggest using the words "1950s style" instead of just "1950s." Don't just write, "made from such-and-such fabric." That doesn't mean anything to people who don't sew, and we won't know if the fabric is brand new or 500 years old. You could write, I double stitched this dress from 100% cotton Moda fabric. I honestly had no idea your beautiful items were handmade until I clicked on the place to see the tags. If I was looking as a buyer, I wouldn't have gotten to the point because I would have thought they were vintage and I'd have given up!

ahh...no!! they are handmade by me at home on my sewing machine!!
I changed my shop announcement to say that they are handmade.
Does that help?
