Does anyone know if you can put a clickable link in listing descriptions on Etsy?

Yes, but it can't be to another site where you sell more items. In other words, you can't use your descriptions to get around paying Etsy fees.

I would want to use it to give credit to designers I use. Do you know how to do this?

Copy the URL and paste it into the description as you're editing it. After you've published the listing, you might just try it out to make sure it works.

It's also a good idea to use this same method to post links back to your shop or one of your shop sections. It keeps people in your shop longer, makes it easier for customers to navigate (especially ones not familiar with Etsy), and makes you pop up higher in searches.

I think only Etsy links are clickable.

I've seen people post links to flickr accounts so people can choose fabric, but you're probably right, Judy.

On Etsy, just pasting a link makes it clickable like Judy said. In other places, you can make it clickable with this bit of code:

Actually what I meant is that Ithe only links that are *clickable* on Etsy are those created from Etsy URLs. For example, you can include clickable backlinks to other items or sections within your shop because the links are generated by Etsy. If you post a URL to anywhere other than Etsy in a listing, it won't be a clickable link. The buyer has to copy & paste it.
