bullets or paragraph?

Hi there,
I'm wondering whether in my descriptions, I should use bullet points, or just a short paragraph?

At the moment, the majority of my listings are in small paragraphs, but i'm wondering if bullet points would be better.

Any thoughts?

I use short paragraphs as well but I really like the idea of bullet points if it'll fit your items. I think they would be much easier to take in at a glance! I know most people don't read the full descriptions because I always am having to message people about things they missed in the descriptions. So, if it'll work, I think it would be good! I'll have to think about if that would work for my stuff :)

I prefer to read descriptions in small paragraphs. Bullet points feel impersonal and I mostly tend to see them in listings where the item hasn't actually been handmade and is from a catalogue where the bullets have been copied from. I tend to associate them with these sorts of listings.

However, I think a small paragraph with more detail, followed by bullet points with measurements could be a good idea!

yeah, i'm thinking of putting my crafting process and things like that in paragraphs and have measurements and information like that in bullet points, I think that satisfies a lot more people.

I personally don't mind reading paragraphs, but after speaking to some of my customers, they seemed to prefer bullet points for crucial information, its easier to skim and see if the item will fit you etc

I just started doing both. I was writing a lot so I've pared that down and tried to be more concise in my initial description. Then I bullet point all the components of the item. That way, they can read if they want or just get the info quickly.

I do a small little blurb about my jewelry piece and then add the bullets to describe measurments of stones, etc..

I think it is easier to read that way.

I do a mix of both - a short descriptive paragraph to start out and then a bulleted list that includes the item's specifications. Good luck!

i've seen a lot of descriptions where the important info is bulleted, then the crafter puts a little story or any detials they want to add in paragraph form.

I do about 2 sentences first, then about 7 bullets just to get the boring (but important) facts on there. Then I list my other links (FB, twitter) and shop links.

I think a combination of both works well. My product is all visual so I use my paragraphs for short how to use and shipping info and I use bullets to describe the product features. Bullets appear last on the page.

Just finished doing a big switch from paragraph to bullets.
