any luck with promoted listings?

I never had any luck with promoted sales. Heck, I never had any luck with paying for any advertising on any platform I have tried (etsy, twitter, fb).

I used promoted listings when I first started, chose the cheapest option. Definately saw an increase in traffic.
After a few months I stopped and my viewing figures remained where they were so I haven't promoted since.
MIght be worth a go though.

I used it for about 6 months, because when I started I had very few views. It increased the views for a while but views have been dropping off since about June and it did not generate and of my sales so I discontinued it. I am now trying Adwords and will try Bing also.

We use promoted listings and are quite happy with it. Initially, we went with $2/day, but in the past month we have upped it to $4/day and have also seen a corresponding increase in traffic. Generally it seems that for every $1 we spend on promoted listings we will earn $4 in increased revenue. This means that our profit is significantly lower for those items; however, it may drive more sales over time (people favoriting now to return later, Holiday season etc.).

I haven't tried Etsy promoted listings, but I'm finding that facebook advertising is working well - to promote my 'Shop Now' call to action rather than get more likes.
