Your thoughts please

Hey everyone!

I am in the process of making a lot of changed to my shop including photos, tags, and some titles. While I know there is still work to do I would love to hear some of your thoughts on how you think the shop is coming along.

I just reopened my shop in May, and am hoping some of these changes will help me increase my sales. Thanks so much in advance!!

OH wow! I love your wreaths!
The photos are okay, but I think they'll look great on a nice looking door and zoom out just a bit. Right now the circles are cut off a bit and it's not very pleasing to the eyes.

I clicked on the photos and they are a bit blurry. May be cos of the low light, I'm not too sure, but you can tackle the problem by just using a good camera and higher shutter speed. I think you didn't edit the photos too. It's pretty important to edit them! You can do so on free software like picasa.

I think your pillowcase photos are pretty good. But try to keep the same angle for all the listings. The pillows on the chair look better to me than the one on the sofa.

I think your titles and tags are okay, I can't help much since I'm still figuring out with my shop too! (:

xx

Re: Your thoughts please

Your wreaths are pretty and so different from so many other wreaths I see, clean and simple.

I will just comment on your photos and description - I would recommend that you shoot your main photo for the wreaths on a door or in a room where it would be used. This gives the buyer some perspective. You do not have the dimensions of the wreath in your description (which I would add) so your customer really does not know how big the wreath is. also, the main photo is cut off in the thumbnail shot so I cannot see the entire wreath.

Also, I would take a shot of the back of the wreath. Remember your customer cannot pick up your item and turn it over. Try to shoot every angle for the customer.

For the pillows - you have the back shot but what about the closing. Does it have a zipper closure so the cover can be cleaned? What is the pillow filled with?

I was told by someone to write descriptions as if you cannot see the photograph. Include details like pillow fill, pillow closure, how the wreath is hung up, how big it is. Give us a written description that completely describes your item.

Your shop has some really fun items - I know you will be successful.

Re: Your thoughts please

Definitely add more keywords to your title. You already have great keywords as tags. Use your tags in your title so you can be relevant. E. G. Summer Wreaths, Brown Wreaths, etc. What I usually do is check my "Stats" to see what keywords are used to get into my shop add that to your title AND tags.

Also your item details needs to have more information. Be as descriptive as you can be and include the size of the wreath, etc.

As stated above your first photo is too close. Move back a few feet so when you upload the photo it's centered in etsy's thumbnail.

Good Luck!

Re: Your thoughts please

I think your photos are nice and I like the way that they are consistent so that it's easy for me to sort through them and find one that I really like.

One tip that somebody gave me in a critique of my shop is that one word tags are not effective. Rather than inputting "pillow" "cotton" "bedroom" it might be more effective to type in "cotton bedroom pillow." That way, you can input more different words into your tags which could increase the number of hits that you get when people search for items.
