Sooo.. I'm currently not sure how to proceed - I recently had a custom order placed, and sent the custom sample to the customer - it was a very time-consuming digital design, and somehow it has disappeared from my computer! Unfortunately and stupidly, I only printed and created the one sample I sent out, and the time has come to complete the full order... I'm very big on having my samples be exactly what the customer will receive, so although I've worked all day to create the same design as closely as possible to how it looks in the photos, chances are it is going to be slightly off, and I have nothing other than photos to compare it to - I'm trying not to freak out, and hoping I can get some suggestions...
Here are the only 2 options I've come up with and I'm not satisfied with either, but here goes..
- I could explain to the customer honestly and up front that the design somehow didn't save and I created the best duplicate possible and can complete the order with this design...
.....Or.....
- I could explain the to the customer honestly and up front what happened and see if they wouldn't mind sending the sample back for me to have to compare (I'd obviously cover shipping charges)
Either way I kinda feel like I may have screwed this one up.. So any thoughts or suggestions will be so very appreciated!
