What was the biggest lesson you learned in your first year of selling on Etsy?

To get anywhere with your own business you have to work hard and then work hard some more.

That although I never thought having an etsy shop would be easy, I also never imagined how very much work it would be for me.

I had to learn to let go of my "time is money" thought pattern, which has been solidly embedded in me as a Consultant and deal with the fact that you just do not really get paid for your time and that is alright.

Working through it all, giving it the outrageous amount of hours it needed this year, in order for it to be strong now... has me in a place where it moves along quite nicely and I do not need to spend quite as much time on things for the return (although you still never really get paid for the time).

Has it paid off? YES! Would I put myself through another year like that, on top of my career? Doubtful! But I made it through *smile*

My biggest lesson was: stay PATIENT when the sales are down. And rather focus to create more and more (you have time when the sales are down).
And I've learnt not to check statistics every day because sometimes it made me crazy.
