Would modifying a listing vs. re-listing also help with getting found?

I've read quite a bit that it's good to often have new listings or re-list existing ones . That keeps your items higher in search results. However, does that also work if you edit a listing, ex. change the title, or change the description? I know simply by adding better keywords/tags you may get better success at being found, but my question is specifically regarding edits and if those bump up your listing in search results.

... it takes a while to design something and be able to have a new item for sale.. but at the same time, I don't want my existing items to get "old" and forgotten

Relisting and new listings are the only way... if it doesn't charge you .20 cents its not moving :(

Actually since I started just modifying my listings I have found a significant increase in views. A friend had told me she heard it on another team and it worked for them. I adjust my listings usually Tues - thurs as those tend to be my highest traffic days.

modifying and working on your relevancy/SEO will of course help views.... but that isnt the same as the bump from being new to the system.

I believe that Google prefers newly updated pages.

Changing things for the sake of changing them is not really a plan though. If you see improvements that can be made, go for it, but otherwise there are more productive uses of your time that will help your business much more.

Just don't renew listings so much that it eats into your profit. That doesn't make sense to me.

I modified all of my listings recently and increased my daily views by about 50%. I think Google still picks it up as a "new" thing because the title & description look new.

It worked for me. I wouldn't waste the money on re listing every time I realize there is a better SEO term I can throw in there.
