Would like your opinion, please

I am a firm believer that if we are not selling....we are not giving the buyer what they want.

Don Conley and I love what we are doing...but, we wonder if what we are offering is not in step with what kids are interested in with all the computerized technology that is out there.
Are we trying to sell a, " Model-T Ford," to today's parents and kids.
Are we behind the times?
Could it be our choice of stories?

Any input, harsh or kind, is what we are looking for.

We don't want to quit....but we want to correct.

We love this Etsy community and hope we can continue here.

I remember when I was a little kid, I had a Peter Pan book that came with a book on tape and I LOVED it! Part of what I loved from my Peter Pan book was the pictures. Before I knew how to read, I could pretend to read the book and look at the pictures as the tape played. And when I was learning to read, I could actually try to read the book.

My older sister was really learning to read as we sat and listened to the book, and I could look at the pictures, and even my little sister was occupied by the sounds and bright colors. It was something we could all do together.

I guess my idea would be to have a read along book to go with the audio book. Maybe even a digital book to avoid printing costs. Kids could pop the CD into the computer and flip the pages of the digital book as they listed to the audio.

You could/should charge more for something like that and you could advertise it as great for the whole family, and a learning aid. What do you think?

What a cute idea! But as a mom... I wouldn't buy because I enjoy reading to my kids. To me... just playing a CD isn't the same. However, it would be could for road trips. We don't have a DVD player in the car and probably never will so a book on CD is great. And, I think some parents would feel differently though - I know some people just aren't comfortable reading aloud (my father-in-law) and this is a great way that children and adults can still share a great story.

Also, could you include a photo of Don Conley and the recording process? People like looking at people and a photo like that might be more enticing to click. Just an idea.

Don't give up, because it really is a cute idea. Have you tried working the craft fairs? Many that I have been to have booths for books and cds for kids and that might be a great way to get your name out there.

We have the set up for doing digital for a pc. We did start it.....It was a bit beyond our tech knowledge...but....we loved it so maybe we better get back to it again....
There is a children book fair coming up...we were looking into that idea.
I will tweek my photos....I thought it look dramatic but it must just appear off color to viewers.
I do have Don Conley's pix with most of the listings. Will go back and put on all.
