Why ?

Why is my shop doing so badly the last 2 months and why are my views decreasing with the day.
I do not want to complain here just want to know so I can work on it.

I did not change anything drastically although I am changing my pictures, from a dark carpet background to a white plain one.
Are they not so good?
Are my products not OK anymore?

Any tips will be welcome so I can make improvements.

The Christmas season is over. Sales are always highest in the holiday season.

Just started checking your shop out. I do not think that something is totally wrong with it, and your sales are proving the opposite.

I am a newbie with only 2 sales, can't really give advice to you. Just a few things:

As we are taught here - what is it? Doll - must be in the first 3 words in the title. Your shop is all vintage, and this word will pop up from the categories, no need to use the front space for it.

What if you put it as Pink sixties doll Little Miss Know it all? You can play with titles and tags and see what happens.

I really loved this little guy too!
Again, I would call it Labradorite Gemstone Spider, Jewelry prop, home decor. Makes sense? From a gemstone seller point of view, I would use the stone name in front, collectors may look for it.

I must apologize again, I am not playing a know it all here :) Just try changing some titles to see if it brings more views.

Your shop is great, especially I love the way you titled shop sections! Even grey carpet background didnt chase me off because it fit pretty well with some stuff like axe and your other "Weird and beautiful" things.

And you have so many items! I just want to look and look! Tags sound good to me, from those I checked.

I am back, viewed and faved some more items in your shop! I loved your story in the shop about page. Wishing you to find and get your hyppos back some day. Have you seen the movie "Serendipity"? They wrote the number in the book and on the dollar bill and both things went around the world and..... you better watch it, miracles happen!

Your shop is shpwing your passion for cute old things, and I believe many people can feel it.

I politely disagree that the word vintage should not be in your title.
It is important for people finding you outside of Etsy, like through Google.

I'm certainly no expert, but I agree that your titles could use a bit of tweaking. Going with the idea of really looking at the first 3 words of your titles, I don't think people searh on things like:

set of 70s
two traditional miniature
stunning vintage emerald
antique blue nautical
miniature set of
classy and elegant
very old red

Indicate what you are selling in the first 3 words of your title

I like the white backgrounds much better than the grey. (argghhh right?)

I LOVE your store -- I just want to "stroll" through all the lovely items too! The products are good in my opinion :-)

It is not true that important words need to be the first three words, that is a myth.
Retail sales ebb and flow. In my almost 6 years on etsy, I will say that March and August are the slowest months. There are no holidays people purchase for.

BeaG is right, you have to promote your business outside of etsy. Every month there are thousands and thousands of new sellers here. It's important to have a good marketing campaign to be found.

eta: I don't really care for white backgrounds. I think they are harsh, but that is just a personal opinion. I experimented with them and went back to soft colors, mostly grey. That is what works best for me.

Love the interesting items, much prefer the paper background but still use grey on very pale or white items! Maybe list some new things, get people looking.

The first three words is a myth for search. Google etc. looks at all the text. On that same note though, when I'm actually browsing through pages on Etsy, the title will get cut off. If what I can see doesn't tell me what it is and I can't tell from the photograph, I'm not likely to click on the link.

That's just my 2 cents. You've been at this much longer than me, Wendy so you're more likely to have advise than I am =)

That is why you want important searchwords at the front of your item titles.

Apparently it's just a bad time of the year. I made the same number of sales this January as last January and the same goes for Feb, but I've been unlucky in March. I've not even made half of them.

What I've done to try to counter this, because I am greatly in need of cash at the moment, is I've reduced my prices slightly, back down to what they were when they were selling best. I have no idea if it will work, but it will surely help. Increasing my prices at this point would probably only damage my business.

Perhaps you could do something similar? Or offer a discount or free shipping?

I really like your shop and checking what you have new time to time. I think you are doing everythnig allright.
The prices are little bit high for me but this is just for me, we don't have such good economical situation here but I am sure it s normally affordable for many countries. So I am just eye shopping from you right now :)
Sorry I don't have any idea to give you but I just wish you good luck and good sales.

p.s: When I was kid I love the metal chocolate boxes comes from Belgium, with a picture of Brussels... I think I still have it in my parents house :) are they still making them ?

Also me, I am a fan of your shop.

I do think with the white background, you go more to the style of everyone. Personally, I think with the dark background, you had more a style of your own, matching with your banner for example.
Only my opinion...
