Why renew a listing?

Hi, my name is Elise and I design DIY Party Stationery & Printables.

I started my store about a month ago and am slowly growing my number of items as time permits. I've had a handful of sales and I'm getting there.

I'm just a little confused as to why I would renew a listing. Is it to attain a higher ranking in customer searches? It costs another 20c to renew right?

Hi Elise
You are kind of in the same boat I am as far as price point goes. I only renew sold items. I think renewing is better for shops that sell items with higher price points. Now that Etsy has changed the search function so it is based on relevancy, there doesn't seem to be as much need to renew items. I would focus instead on adding new items to your shop. Hope that helps!

You can also renew an item once it expires (after 4 months).
