Why do people do this?

Sorry everyone. I'm kind of nieve to this. Why is it that in their titles some people make some letters capital, and some not. It doesn't make any sense to me. I'm going to use an example in case anyone doesn't know what I mean, and I hope that if the person that this item belongs too sees this then they won't mind that I used it. But anyway, here it is.

If anyone could explain this to me, I would appreciate it, because I REALLY don't get this.

I do not know what's up with that...I make most of mine all lowercase, just because that's sort of my "theme" with my shop title....but yeah, I've often wondered the same thing! The only thing I can think of that it somehow makes them come up in searches higher on the page?

Could just be a hipster thing, too. ; )

I'm not sure what's up with that either, from what I understand that would not do as well as a title with lower cases, it messes with the search engine.

I've always wondered that myself. It's weird, annoying and very hard to read. You'd think they'd want a buyer to be able to read it easily.

I capitalize each word in a title...as I would a poem or story...because I majored in English. Is it better for seo to have everything lower-case?

As far as I'm concerned, if it's to grab attention it fails... it's not legible !

Does SEO frown at capitals ? I didn't know !

This is not just an Etsy thing. It is an annoying internet thing. It reminds me of texting teenagers and shady Ebay auctions. It is supposed to grab attention, but it is a huge turn off for me.

I think its to get your attention. To me it just looks really really tacky... I think about how the person was typing at the time and imagine their hands doing this, It is just plain stupid... I use to do this with my handwriting and still do sometimes cause I hated the way my lower case R's and K's looked, but when typing it just seems like a waste of time and the end result is obnoxious.

I don't understand it. I honestly wont even look at a product if its written like a first grader wrote it with some capital letters or has the letter 3 for e's It drives me nuts. I also dont understand why people use two i's (mii (me), ii (I) liik3(like) I see it all the time on facebook I know people don't use it like that here but I figured I would vent a little about that too

I believe it's against team rules to post things like this when you're calling someone specific out, which you've done by including a listing that's not your own, and you've likely not had consent to.

Having said that, there's no real reason to do it. It doesn't affect searches, and it doesn't make people look clever. It makes it difficult to read the titles. It's bad enough that people do it on facebook on their statuses - I don't need it here as well! :P There should be some sort of filter or something. But I'd rather they worked on giving us set-amount coupons for gift vouchers than work on this :P
