Selling on Etsy can be challenging! You have many unique items in your shop! One point that might help is working on your titles and descriptions! Some of them are very specific, however, a couple are vague. Like Three Vases 23" x 25"!

Here is a great 22 minute video that will get you thinking like a customer looking for your art! http://vimeo.com/19769573

You have lovely items!

I think it is really about promoting yourself and products, while your art quilts are beautiful it will take extra effort to promote items at the price range which is out of a lot of peoples budgets.

Try advertising your baby quilts on baby related blogs or blogs for mums etc.
same with your bags - find where your target market is and advertise and promote to them.

Re: Where am I missing the boat?

I love your wall hangings. My mom made many of those and I am aware of the time and patience that goes into a piece like that. That being said no photo, however well taken, can convey the beauty and awesomeness of those items. The internet is great for getting our art seen beyond our little world, but touching, smelling, and first hand viewing is lost on a computer screen. I feel I have a similar problem with my shop. If people touch and look closely at my work I have a better chance of a sale. Are there just some things that don't sell as well online? I don't want to know the answer. Also your bag, use all 5 photos. I really like the bag, but wouldn't buy it without more views. Have someone wearing it, that helps someone imagine it on their own shoulder. You had the dimensions, I think, but the photo didn't put that in perspective. Also have a shot of the interior? Just think of an item that interests you. How much visual info would you need to have to purchase it? Responding to your post has made me think I need to step back and reevaluate my shop. Thank you!! You've been quite a help to me.

Your work is beautiful. I sew, not as much as I used to. In any event, your handbags remind me of the pricey ones by Mary Frances. Somehow you need to tap into that market. Maybe you can put "Mary Frances like" in one of your tags. I'll see if I can come up with any other ideas. The 9/10 wall hanging ... and the three vases wall hanging .... ooh la la ... gorgeous.

I think your products are very nice but you need to utilize all that etsy offers. Use at least 3 pictures for each item Maybe even with a measuring stick to show the size. Everything is visual. Better use of your tags. I right them down after I enter them then when the next time I list an item I remember the ones I used. You should always put the shop name and your name in your tags. I'm a little confused on why you didn't use your business name that's on your label. On the East Coast they use the term pocket book for purses put that in your tags. I saw that you don't have any feedback. If you purchase items they list that feedback on your feedback and helps you build relationships and trust. I hope this helps you.
