When sellers "Mark as Shipped" When it's NOT!

Just wondering if anyone has gotten "screwed" this year by supply sellers marking your purchased item "Mark as Shipped" when they haven't shipped it out. A couple of my suppliers here on Etsy have promised me that my order was on its way. Yet no tracking information will be provided. Meanwhile I have a few very unhappy customers. No doubt.

Learned a BIG lesson this year: Do Not Do Custom Orders At Christmas Time.
PERIOD.

Sorry to hear that this has happened to you! I feel very fortunate. I buy a LOT of my jewelry supplies from Etsy sellers and have had wonderful experiences every single time. And every single order has been shipped promptly. Much faster than buying from an online supply store outside of Etsy. Have you convo-ed your supply sellers to find out why you haven't received your item?

Have you considered the fact that they HAVE shipped them, but left out any tracking to lessen the shipping price? Or perhaps the item has just gotten stuck somewhere - it happens a LOT over Christmas, and you typically have to be prepared to wait for double the length of time for supplies or goods as usual. It usually takes 2 days to receive something from my own country, but over the past few weeks it's taken at least a week.

Also, perhaps next year you should be sure to stock up on supplies before accepting custom orders in the holidays.

I'm sorry that happened to you. How frustrating at this time!

I never had that experience. I always buy my supplies (yarn) in person and locally so I'm on top of things. Is it difficult for you to buy all your supplies yourself ahead of time? Definitely look for other suppliers.

Custom orders at Christmas aren't a big deal - just make sure you have enough of your supplies on hand NEXT year.

I thought I had my supplies ordered for my soap shop well in advance this year, but I didn't. Sometimes, even with planning, you have problems that you can't control.

I ordered some supplies that took a lot longer to get here than usual. I had tracking and it wasn't because the supplier didn't ship them on time, it's because they sat in the post office in one town for about three days. It's just that time of year.

Re: When sellers "Mark as Shipped" When it's NOT!

I've learned to pull all items that I don't have the materials for until the bits are sitting in my home. It's not other sellers' fault, in my situation. It's our wonky fabric store.

You & I know that the selling/shipping thing doesn't always go smooth as silk. But if a seller is not willing to provide you with a tracking #, I'd really look for someone else to deal with. I don't automatically send a # with notification. But, if they ask for it, I'd better have it handy!
