And other things that people have said, or things that I can't think or right now. I actually search for styles a lot, not just 'shorts'. So, like I search for steampunk or victorian, but I don't know what kind of style these shorts would fit into.
Jorts! Just kidding, I don't think anyone would search for that. Maybe 80s wear? With Halloween coming up someone might buy for a costume - or sorority/fraternity themed party all year round. Not that I think they're costume-y - just thinking of what instance I would be shopping for them since it isn't my normal style.
You could also try refashioned shorts or upcycled shorts - I know that is a popular category :)
