What would stop you..?

...from buying from my shop?

Please, I need a very sincere opinion! I worked on my descriptions, titles, tags and I only got sales from BNSs! I am feeling a little frustrated, I would love to hear an honest feedback on my shop, what stops the people who favorite my items from buying?

Thank you very much!

Re: What would stop you..?

I can tell you that some of the photos are dark but I think the earrings are beautiful. The shipping seems reasonable. Could be people are uneasy about buying from overseas (American buyers). I don't know. I can say this, though, I'm asking the same question about my shop lol so I feel your pain
And I would buy your items except that I don't wear jewelry and don't have too many people to buy for

Re: What would stop you..?

I think alot of your things are adorable, especially the rings, I do know that selling jewelry on etsy is the most competitive category. There is just sooo much jewelry on here. I wish I had some better advice for you!

I love your things! I like the white background on your items. Do you list something everyday? I heard that helps to keep your shop active. Sorry I don't have much else. Jewelry is a hard category.

Re: What would stop you..?

You and I have shops that are just a couple weeks apart in age and we both have 19 sales. How about that! Anyway, I love the look of your shop- very fresh, bright and clean. I hear that in jewelry, sometimes people are looking for Mom and Me jewelry sets, maybe you could find a way to market that. Also, try to inch the inventory closer to 100 items- I hear that helps, and it did seem to help my shop too (still working on this.) Can you create other items like your most popular seller? Or maybe a necklace to match?
I hope you get some other good ideas too. Best of luck to you!

Re: What would stop you..?

I'd like to offer the suggestion of listings of unisex and / or men's items. That would expand your market and appeal.

Re: What would stop you..?

http://www.etsy.com/listing/120996236/shades-of-blue-waxed-cords-necklace-with
I love this necklace but did not realize it until I clicked on the listing page
necklace should be in your listing along with blue.
-work on writing titles with descriptions that describe what people are looking for like blue necklace.
-create and overall appeal and about page that tells why you have these designs-personalize your gossip
-listings are a bit dark and the white background just is not working for me.
but I do like the one picture below.
This picture does o good job of showcasing colors and is there a chance you could have a model.
-your descriptions are a but technical. I just don't know about the jewelery making but I want to read a story behind it. Make me imagine wearing it with my clothes to a lunch or something.
-who is your target market?

Re: What would stop you..?

Perhaps that you are shipping from Romania and you say shipping will take up to 5 weeks for delivery could definitely be deterring a lot of US customers. There are so many other jewelry shops where shipping will only take 2 or 3 days.

Re: What would stop you..?

Hey, thank you very much for the feedback, I am not able to respond to everyone in person but your advice was very helpful. I will work on my title, I hope I'll make them better.

I really hope that the shipping time will not effect my sales!

Thanks!

Re: What would stop you..?

Well, I don't wear much jewelry ... but that's probably not the answer you were looking for.

You sell jewelry and have only been open a few months. Jewelry, as you may know, is the most saturated category on Etsy ... which means you need to do everything about 3x as good as non-jewelry sellers. And then cross your fingers too.

Re: What would stop you..?

Paula, keep networking, promote your items on the pinit, facebook, tumbler, etc lists. When you do your business cards, make sure your shop link is added to the card. When you make a sale, put your business card in the mailing, offer a discount for repeat customers,

In other words, put yourself out there as much as you can, and as often as you can.

Your items are beautiful btw ♥

Re: What would stop you..?

Your items are fantastic, I don't say that lightly.

As said above, the shipping times to US may be a factor. Can you pay a little more for shipping and get it to the US faster? Your items are good enough to be a fair bit more expensive Imho. You could put some of the increased shipping charge into the listing price if you're worried about displaying a high cost for shipping. I'd be tempted to significantly raise your prices whatever you decide to do.

Re: What would stop you..?

Hi, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
Chas, I tried lately to list 1 or 2 items daily and I was thinking about raising my prices slowly with every item listed! I am very afraid to raise my prices, I really hope not to scare my customers away!

As for the shipping, there is no way I could make my packages get to US faster, I am doing the fastest way :D some of them get there in a week but I can not guarantee that!

Re: What would stop you..?

Wow!!!! Your store is beautiful! I especially love the waxed cord items. Do you think your titles should start with words like: jewelry/earrings/necklaces etc. instead of waxed cord...? I wouldn't know to search for "waxed cord" but I loved it as soon as I saw it!

Re: What would stop you..?

Thank you Kim, I'll have to change my title but that would be the 10th time and I am a little bit confused. I am so glad you like my waxed cords items, I was very shy about listing them but I will list more since people like them.

Re: What would stop you..?

Paula, I too sell jewelry but not the same kind. 20 sales your first 3 months is great for handmade jewelry. What I have found is that a month on Etsy equates to one art show in sales. Also, expect that it takes ANY business a while to catch on and develop regular sales. In the brick and mortar world they say 2 years to turn a profit. Everything about your shop and product looks great including your photos. Relist or list new items on a regular basis. If you can get your listed items to 100 you increase your exposure. Best of luck to you and don't be discouraged.

Re: What would stop you..?

Paula, I love your sho! and have always loved your jewelry!
The only thing that stopped me from buying anything would have been the guilt of buying something for myself :) Your pictures are very clear, and you have very original items (which is what caught my eye, and makes me want).
Keep listing each day and promote the heck out of what you list right then and there, so that it is not forgotten. And promote others. I would say listing of all things has been my biggest attention getter!

Hang in there Paula, and best of luck!

Re: What would stop you..?

Paula I love your jewelry and your shop, I don;t see anything that need changing at the moment. For me the only thing that would stop me is that I am broke. I have not bought anything for a little while outside of the necessities, LOL But beautiful collection I love it :)

Re: What would stop you..?

Harmony, I try to promote every way I can, unfortunately I can not find my market since the promoting doesn't bring me too many sales. As for the listings, I made a promise to myself that I will list every day 2 items until I get to at least 100! I have 72 so far :) I hope this will get me some sales soon!
