What to do?

Here is my dilema....I sell art prints in pdf file only for 10.00. Originally I priced at 6.00 and had barely started out. I have been here selling since August. I have gotten some harsh but constructive feedback from a source and they tell me my stuff should sell for 1.00 and who knows if people will buy. There are reasons why people are not buying and I need to find out why so I can improve and achieve success. I need a second opinion. I recently decided to sell my products for 10.00 as this is the average price for printables on etsy.

Re: What to do?

What throws me off is that your titles say "art print" but when I get halfway through the description says it's a PDF file. When I see the word 'print' in a title I assume a printed item will be mailed to me.

The same with this card listing. I thought it was for paper cards until I read the description.

Your banner says "paper goods" but your items are all digital. Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but I think you need to be more specific in your shop description, titles and tags and make it clear that these are digital files. I wouldn't know that when seeing them in a list of search results.

Re: What to do?

Hi Mireya,
I did a quick search on pdf printables and see that the price range is quite wide. I don't sell pdf's, so it's difficult to comment about prices. However, I looked at a couple of your listings and don't see the words "pdf printables" either in your titles or tags. That could be making the difference in your views/sales. If I were looking for a pdf file, I don't think I would type in anything other than a search word beginning with "pdf." Maybe if you have that as the first word in each of your listing, this would make a difference?

Good luck to you...hope it's a "sweet" year for you and your sweet shop! :)

Cheers,
Donna

Re: What to do?

I think you need to work on tiles, tags, and SEO to be found. I looked at this listing: http://www.etsy.com/listing/119394039/art-print-life-is-like-a-box-of

I would make sure to add printable to your titles and tags, (and there was one typo in office in this listing at least.) Go back through everything and change them up a little bit. You have some cute stuff; I think if you can target your niche market you will do fine.

Also, try either printing them out and showing the prints frames, or set each image onto a landscape background for the first image, so that the whole image can be seen first thing, and the show them closer up in the second and third frames. This will help attract attention. Keep adding listings, so you can be found in the sea.

Re: What to do?

I also sell printables and find pricing tricky.
At the moment I sell art "prints" for $6, and colouring pages for $2.... I starred like this and have jug left it but I am wondering if I should adjust things as it seems wierd to charge different amounts for one single sheet!
I also sell colouring books (12 pages long) for $12, and they do sell well. However I am constantly wondering what would happen if I charged less, maybe $9.... I find it hard to price PDFs as there is no supply cost, there is no "time" involved really etc, so the normal formula doesn't work!
I think it's a case if experimenting and finding what works.... But getting people to find your products is crucial, so I agree with the above comments about titles SEO and so on.
