I was wondering… I have a shop called Hippo’s Dream and of course I have nice business cards that fit my brand… my big hippo that is shouting Hippo’s Dream.
I include a card with every order.

But I am also a buyer on Etsy and I also receive lots of business cards.
To be honest most of the time I throw them away, I rarely keep them (only when I truly like the shop or the card).

So I was wondering… what are customers doing with my cards?

Did you ever wonder or ….what you do with them in case you are a buyer?

Curious to hear….

Re: What to do with business cards?

I always include one of my business cards in every package that goes out. I like the idea of sending magnets, too!

When I receive a business card from another seller, I always keep them.

Re: What to do with business cards?

great information! thanks for posting this.
I keep about half of the business cards I get. If I love the shop I'll keep it as a reminder to buy from them again. I've also received business cards with a coupon code on them- I definitely keep those.
;)

Re: What to do with business cards?

I always send with orders and have them about my person as I'm usually wearing stuff I make and people ask about it. I sometimes leave them in random places too, you never know!

I print a 10% discount code on some of them so people are more tempted to keep them and get really lush corners cut off ones from Moo. Many of my customers say they put them on the wall they're such good quality!

I always keep ones I like from people I buy from, I have an old printers draw on my wall with lots of compartments and silly bits in each one, so lots of the cards go in their own compartments as mini illustrations. (particularly Mab Graves' cards, they are so lush!)

Re: What to do with business cards?

I always enclose a card in every order. On the back of the card, I have a sticker with a coupon code for 10% off next purchase.

I send stickers instead of cards now, I still have no idea what customers do with them though haha.. but I figure at least its something different!

Re: What to do with business cards?

I have a stack on business cards under one of my monitors in a little box that have come from all over the show- some from etsy sellers, and some from general businesses, including scientific analysis equipment company cards from my last job
As for mine, I always send one out with each order. I hope that if people don't keep them, that they at least recycle them or something like that- even if it is to prop up a table leg!

Incidentally, does anyone leave cards in unusual places for people to find? Like on tables at cafes, etc?

Re: What to do with business cards?

So far I have been sending 1 with every order. I have been wanting to send 2 but since I haven't had a chance to order mine yet, I have to print them on card stock every time.
