What's your average number of views per day?

I've definitely noticed a pattern in the overall number of views I get on a weekday vs. weekend - about 20 during the week, anywhere from 40-60 on a Saturday or Sunday. My numbers have gone up steadily but I'm wondering what other shops tend to average. Am I doing well or do I need to work on bumping that number up even more?

My average is around 200 a day and on a good day between 250 and 300.
i think it is OK but not more then that..... :-)

Hi Kristine, when I'm active in teams, make treasuries etc, I can get 150+ views in a day, but with my normal listing/ promoting it is more like 40 - 70.
I think what matters, though, is your views from Search ( and other search engine views) - these are most likely to be potential buyers. Of your 20 / 40, how many are from Search?

I average 110 views per day. More than 1/2 from search.

I don't get that many vies from search, but I have noticed that people who get into my shop, stay a while (a lot of traffic from inside the shop, sections, etc.)
My total number of views hovers around 100 per day.

I have started tweaking my title and tags to increase the traffic from search, but so far haven't seen any results (the "optimized" items are not found in search more often than "not optimized").

My views are much lover than anyone who posted to this discussion. Views of less than 13 a day for weekday or weekend in the past month. Vies from search are about 1 a day.

I am working to improve my shop and know I need better tags but not sure what to add. I am in the process of re-photographing all my items.

Lately my views have been ~20 a day. Getting closer to the holidays though, they'd be ~80. I've definitely noticed that they peak around Wednesday until the weekend when the tend to drop off a bit. My guess is that people browse Etsy at the office maybe?

Kim, your jewelry is really beautiful and would do well with some brighter photos of it, but you are already working on that. Have you tried posting on Tumblr or Pinterest? I've had some luck with both of those sites bringing my shop views up. :)

I'm usually 125-150/day. Mostly from search, but the last few days I've had a whole bunch from Direct Traffic. Sure wish we could see where that direct traffic came from! I definitely noticed that views increase exponentially with the amount of listings you have. The more the merrier!

My 30 day average right now is 73 views a day, and 9 favorites a day.
THIS month's average (6 days) is 97 views a day, and 13 favorites.

Kim: there are several great SEO teams, but here are a few quick tips, I'll use this item as an example:

- Use titles that includes words and phrases people are searching. An example might be " 14k gold gemstone pendant - wire wrapped rutilated quartz"

- Use ALL of your tags! These help the etsy search engine know what keywords to associate with your item. For example, somebody might search "wire wrapped pendant" but would never see your item because the tags aren't there. It (apparently) also helps to have tags that repeat words and phrases from your title. Tags I would use: wire wrapped pendant, 14k gold, quartz pendant, jewelry, gold pendant, rutilated quartz, gold wire wrap, gemstone pendant, etc.


In reponse to the original post, I was averaging about 40 views a day until I introduced my "elvish ear cuffs" which I guess are both popular and uncommon, because I get TONS of traffic from search for these items. As of about February 16, my views are now averaging 125-150/day.

Kim, definitely try the SEO teams as it's tough and takes so much work It is pretty difficult to figure out. It's taken me 9 months, but if i work hard I can sometimes get 800 views a day, but that entails lots of activity in teams, adding listings and posting items to Rebelmouse, Wanelo etc.

For the last 10 days I have been averaging about 900-1,000 views a day. My views shot up when I fixed my pictures 2 months ago and they have been slowly creeping up over the last 2 months as I have added more items. I am working on my shop at least 4-6 hours a day though, more if I can find the time! I do notice when I have a day where I can't do as much, the views will slip for the next few days so it definitely takes constant work.

The best advice I can give, which I learned from another's post awhile ago on this Team, is that your item's title is NOT the name of your item. In other words, it's not what you would 'call' your item if you gave it a name (Use the Description for that). Rather, the title is where you should use as MANY of the (I think) 150 characters that you are allowed to use as possible.

For example, if your item is some orange and blue earrings made of epoxy, your title should be something like "Orange/Blue Round Epoxy Earrings Dangles Dainty Handmade Jewelry Gift" instead of "Orange and Blue Earrings."

And then your Tags should be ALL of those words in your title. (And really, the more specific you can be on color and materials, the better. So 'Tangerine' would be better than 'Orange' if it applies.)

Bottom line: If it's in your title, it should be a Tag, and vice-versa.

As soon as I learned all of this, my views increased dramatically. I still am working on developing the perfect words to use in my Titles/Tags to generate the most views, but as soon as I started this process, I noticed the changes immediately.

I agree with Hannah, titles and tags are super important to get those views! I worked on all my tags from all my 100 + items one by one. It was a strenuous task, but my view jumped from 20-30 per day, to 50-70 per day, and the best is that my sales are going up also!!! Views are great, but sales are better!

You should focus all your energy on your titles and tags, and keep an Excel list of words you can use to describe your items. Also determine to what type of clientele you want to cater. Also, the older your shop is, I think the better the chance you get to be seen in searches.

What great replies! The majority of my views are from search, and I've noticed that I'm getting more hits from off-etsy search sources like Google. Looks like I still have a way to go though! :)

On a good day my views hover between 120-150. Those are the days I'm more active on teams. On the days that I spend little time on Etsy my views are in the 70-90 range, still not bad considering I'm not actively promoting that day. Most of my views come from search, shop listings (back links) and my shop. I also tend to get sales on lower view days.

Hmmm. I get approx. 10 views a day. Have corrected pictures, use all my tags and updated my titles. I just started putting a few items on Pinterest. I will have to check out the SEO teams. I figured I had start bringing in some new items besided belt buckles! LOL

Funny you should ask. I recently started keeping a journal of my stats throughout the day and the basic things I've done for my shop such as new listing, renewal, participate in discussions, tweak tags and titles, post to facebook or twitter, Wanelo or pinterest, etc.

There is a huge difference when I do and don't work on my shop - from about 20 views to over 200 views in a day.

I still have a lot of work to do to improve and turn more of those views into sales.
