I love the oldies, not just the 50s, 60s, but the 70s & 80s as well. This holiday season I have started playing all the records that I make into my clocks, before I make each clock I play the song! So it has varied from the Rolling Stones, The Beatles to Frank Sinatra, and Nina Simone, to AC/DC and Aerosmith. But my guilty pleasure has been playing Reo Speedwagon Can't fight This Feeling. I like it so much I kept a copy and play it every day (singing along badly!!)

Christmas music, classic country, or TV in the background for me. Folk music and classic country have a fair amount of songs about blue collar workers that I like.

Oh my gosh, love this thread! I can't wait to here the playlist! I simply can not work with out music! I have too many fav's at the moment to just choose one!
My most favorite at the moment is from a local band called "Harrolds IGA" the song is "Mobile Homes" and it just reminds me of everything my home town is about! I love it!!!
In addition to that:
Babel by Mumford and sons- the fast pace gets me moving!
Waves by blondfire
Ho Hey by The Lumineers

Ohoh... And any thing by Bon Iver (I know its slower, but the songs are so beautiful)!

What an AWESOME question!!!

I listen to Loreena McKennitt (on Pandora) when I weave.. listening to her evokes a time when tales were told by the fireside and ballads were sung by traveling bards....

Oooh...LOVE this THREAD!! Hmmm....it depends on the day of the week. But lately I've been going a bit old-school with the Counting Crows' live album at Town Hall. It hits the spot!

ESPN! I can just sit and embroider as the kids play and the husband watches football. Nothing is expected of me or requires me to get up for awhile.

It depends on my mood. Could be Dixon's Violin, Dave Matthews, or Pet Shop Boys. I also listen to lectures & podcasts.

I cannot work without music. I sing all the time and at times this irritates my son. My favourite songs are Sweet Home Alabama by Kid Rock and Affirmation by Savage Garden.

My favorite song to listen to when cleaning and checking over my vintage jewelry is Brand New Key by Melanie. It's an old song but it sure can lift your spirits. I also love listening and watching the Hp Printer Commercial with the Evian Babies roller skating to the same song.

My newest discovery and fave to listen to while I write my Astrology & Tarot reports is a a Progressive House Mix with no vocals I found on Youtube. It even has songs titled Zodiac and Asteroid, which I didn't noticed until after I had randomly picked it out and listened to it. You can find it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja3ZMTIwpxY

"Something Good Can Work" by Two Door Cinema Club is my go-to song when things decide not to go according to plan. It might be my life's theme song.

"Brighten It Up" by Matt Stansberry & The Romance just gets me in the mood to help myself and others have the fairy tale without the genderism.

I like to listen to my three J's- Josh Groban, Jamie Cullum and John Mayer. Josh gets me to center and focus. Jamie helps me when I'm knee deep in the creative process. And John just sounds good.
