I love to work with opera on! Or classical..Bach is my favourite. Some days I prefer really old jazz (Fats Waller, Billie Holliday, etc) or 50s and 60s rock and roll. lol and some days I prefer folksongs. It definitely helps if I can sing along with it! For housecleaning I need rock or at least something really upbeat. I guess really I listen to just about everything except rap and modern country; it just depends on my mood.

I cannot work without music either. If I am not listening to my immense Amazon MP3 library (which features tunes ranging from Coldplay to Medieval Babes to Led Zepp to Diana Krall to ABBA), I am listening to my CD collection. At this minute I am listening to my classical playlist which is dominated by Bach, Beethoven, and Johann Strauss waltzes. However, my go to work songs...

These are just a few of my 2000 plus songs, and I haven't even covered the CDs
The CDs have been dominated by Christmas but I'm non-traditional there
too. I've been listening to CDs by the Baltimore Consort (Renaissance to 18th century Christmas music); To Drive the Cold Winter Away by Loreena McKennitt; Baroque Christmas; and a set of 5 CDs by the Kings College Choir. Oh, and music by Anonymous 4.

So definitely eclectic. I should also mention that my favorite Christmas songs (as opposed to carols and sacred music) are:

I just put on my iTunes collection and start at a letter. I have all genres. I skip anything I'm not in the mood for. All of us in the Studio love it. Highlights of Today some selections were Someday by Los Lobos featuring Mavis Staples, Man or Astroman? (cosmic surf music - that's what I call it), Rev Horton Heat, Christmas selections from Loreeta McKennitt and Brian Setzer Orchestra, Hank Williams Sr and more. Thanks for all of your faves. I've discovered new talent like John Newman! Wo-ow!

J-pop and j-rock sets me a in good mood, but also songs like "I will wait for you" by Mumford & Sons.
But when I work on saturday evenings, I listen to the very best mix of house and trance tunes on "culture club live" on BFBS Radio! Highly recommendable!
