We had so much fun listening to all of your creativity boosting songs and loved seeing how your musical tastes are as unique as your talents! We wish we could have included all of your suggestions, but I'm sure you can imagine how long it would be. And now...drumroll...I present to you the perfect playlist for starting out a new year full of new ideas:
I can't work without music! I'm listening to Edward Sharpe station right now, but I also love Sam Cooke while at work. If I could sing along it gets the creative juices flowing.
Cyndi Lauper's "Girls just wanna have fun." But I change all the lyrics to be about my toddler son - Finn just wants to have fun! It makes us both giggle and dance and keeps my energy up and the positivity flowing.
Pandora is my life! I pretty much stream the House and Club Dance Stations all day long ..... I can tune out the world around me .... keeps me super positive, focuses me on my designing .... and I get to have a 'dance break' whenever a good tune comes on!! :)
Christophe Beck's Paperman soundtrack! I have an entire playlist on Spotify (@accordionlass) called Sewing Studio with my top creativity-inducing tracks, but that one is a perennial favorite. So romantic, so adventurous, so whimsical.
I like to mix it up - Leonard Cohen, Alexi Murdoch, Bob Marley.......and on the lighter side Fun, Bastille, Frank Turner. My favorite NPR show to listen to is Radio Deluxe - I'm a Broadway Musical girl at heart!!
For sure, the minute I heard this song I thought about my jewelry business. It makes me feel at home with myself and productive. :) Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AEoUa0Hlso
Love some Pearl and the Beard, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Matt Pond, or just about anything from the Ear Candy Podcast (Lots of great indie bands!)...
Michael's favorite song to create to is Mladic by Godspeed You! Black Emperor; mine is currently "Hurt" by NIN for editing photos and creating new images (or Vampire Weekend's "Mansard Roof" for more upbeat moods!)... and "Here Comes Your Man" by the Pixies for packaging-type activities!
