What is wrong with my SEO? Advice, please!

Most of what I sell is shawl pins, wire wrapped, copper or brass ones. Primarily l am interested in appearing in search results after "shawl pin" as close to the first page as possible, which l used to be for a very long time. But now something has changed ( in the way the search engine works?)and my items won't appear until page 30! I find it unfair as I have this term mentioned several times in description ( l didn't have it previously, but changed the descriptions), title and tags.

Please, tell me what am l doing wrong?

You probably should do some reading about SEO; it will help you in general with your whole shop.

The SEO for Etsy Newbies thread in this team:

is pretty helpful.

In short, descriptions have nothing at all to do with Etsy's search. For a relatively competitive search like "shawl pin" (where there are at least 25 pages, and I would guess more, of optimized listings), it is impossible to guarantee that you will stay at the top of the search. It is much more beneficial to focus on getting views for a lot of different searches that are more specific than "shawl pin," and taking the views you get from large searches like that as a bonus :)
