I'm starting to revamp my store for 2015. I have only certain items that are 30% off. Is it easier for me to make a coupon code with a discount number or, just mark them down already and put in description that it is discounted?

What is easier? Thanks

I think it would be easier to list them with the discounted price, but from a customer point of view it is more satisfying to see the full price and then use a coupon to reduce it.

Just remember that if you use a coupon code to offer a discount that the coupon code can be applied to everything in the shop and not limited to just certain sections.

For me as a buyer I prefer sale section, so I can see what's on sale. As a seller I would never make cupon code, because buyers could use the cupon code on all items.

Agree, unless you are ok with a customer using the coupon on ANY item, it's best to just change the price to reflect the discount and make note of it in the listing. Or, use EtsyOnSale. I've also seen some people use a main photo for the item with "SALE" written across it. It's an easy way to make the statement (sure, this item won't make it to the front page, but honestly, that's a pretty slim chance anyways)

My only problem with Etsy on Sale, besides the fact that it cost money, is that I'm still adding items to the sale, and it will basically be like this for the rest of the year.

Buyers don't always see coupon codes, so I would discount the items

Thank you Amy. Since over half of my store is on sale, I feel like it looks really weird with only a few sections.
