What is better for photos

I'm trying to fix all of my crayon roll photos and I'm having a hard time on what looks better for the first picture.
Does something like this work
https://www.etsy.com/listing/155483917/monsters-university-crayon-roll-great
Where you see the front and the back on both or does
https://www.etsy.com/listing/151411010/robot-and-chevrons-crayon-rollbirthday?ref=shop_home_active
Where you only see the inside work.
I'm trying to figure out what is more appealing to people.

Re: What is better for photos

I like the second pictures, def more appealing! If I wanted to buy I'd go with no. 2, I think a lighter background (not necessarily white) on the second pic would also make the colors and pattern stand out more :)

Thank you Glendy, I'm working on a new background so white backgrounds are to come. The Monsters inc one I'm thinking of keeping like that because of the pattern of the fabric

I like the second shot. In an additional photo I would show the back. After all you get 5 photos for each listing.

Personally, I find the left part of the first shot a good example to show your crayons. You can take a shot of the same pose to be used as the main picture for your item. Use the remaining 4 more picture preview with different angles to show crayon holder design.
