We're really ramping up our online seller education programming and I'd love your input. What kind of workshops would you like to attend? SEO, web analytics, photography?
With everyone else on the SEO. You can have the most amazing photographs, well written descriptions and oh yeah amazing products, but if no one can find you....well no one can find you!
I would love to have a chance to learn more about legal issues, specifically copyright issues. Would love to learn about it from both sides too - how to protect my own work and what is legal as far as using images and words in my own work.
Info on taxes and financial management within a small business are always helpful as well.
How about a big sister/big brother group? It would be really helpful for things that everyone else seems to know, such as "What is SEO?" and "How do I find....?" May you all get your sales this week :)
I would like to see a workshop about developing a product line. The soaring cost of silver and other metals has made me have to rethink just as I was starting! :)
All of the above suggestions sound interesting! I think the workshops are one of the most valuable offerings from the Etsy community.
Whatever workshops you decide on, please continue to post them after the live session. I live in a rural area and my internet speed is not up to live video. Also, if I am on the road at an art show I love being able to catch up when I get home. Thanks!
I'd like to see workshops where experts of various topics spend part of the time giving a short presentation and for the rest (majority) of the time do a Q&A. Here are a few topics of interest in no particular order:
- SEO: how to increase traffic in your shop (increase your sales)
- Google Analytics: how to analyze visitor interactions and tweak your shop in a tailored way for better results in shop traffic, marketing, etc.
- How to increase online sales through social networking
- Gain new customers and keep current ones
- learn about common small business mistakes and how to avoid them
- All you need to know about sales, pricing, and profits
- know your market and find it
- how to create a compelling media kit and use it in creative ways
- making the most of teams, treasuries, circles and hearts

I'd like to learn about how others track their sales for example do you use spreadsheets? What do you need to save for end-of-the-year tax record consolidation.
