January is typically a slow month but I think we can still get sales if we work for it. So lets use this thread to state what we plan to sell and what we plan to buy.

I plan to sell: hats, wristwarmers, cell phone cases and neck warmers.

What am I planning to buy: yarn, supplies for my proucts, picture frames, beauty products and candles.

I plan on expanding my hoops. I've also been toying around with the idea of *making* napkins and hand-embroidering on top of that. Crossing my fingers :) Sounds like you plan on keeping busy, Natasha! Good luck! :D

wow this is great motivation!! I have barely started on my shop but since I am in jewelry and since that category is overly saturated on etsy I feel no one would really be on the lookout in january?

Silverlily, I agree with Samantha. I could say the same thing about crochet items but I dont, I just keep making pretty items and people buy them. I've bought several pieces of jewelry on etsy and a lot of other people have too so keep creating.

I've been busy transferring my crochet designs from my notebook to pdf files and hope to sell them here on Etsy. I've also had such a great response to my hooded scarf pattern , so after the holiday, I plan to make them in different colors and list those in my shop as well.

I just hope that 2012 will be a good year for sales

Natasha, You do great work. Keep making those wrist warmers. I recently did a boutique and sold out of all of my fingerless gloves. People love those !

I plan on selling more rabbits and maybe some custom rag dolls.

I plan on buying a new printer and some fabric. Not so much handmade stuff, but I am looking at the shops for some felt. :)

I am just going to keep making jewelry, because that's what I do. :) My other shop has keychains and little stretchy rings which are fun. Maybe if people don't wear jewelry they might want a keychain? Anyway, if I am happy with what I make I am posting it and hope others like it too! :)

I will buy I think stuff I can use for my business. I have bought pretty organza bags on here for my smaller jewelry and people seem to like them! I will also buy beads and findings and such.

I generally try to stay ahead one season so I'll be making / selling more food bowl covers and napkin utensil rolls (great for Spring and Summer picnics), introducing new crochet plush animals, and pomanders.

I'll buy more fabric and yarn.

Well I'm glad to see other people keepung optimistic about the impending slow season.

As a new shop, I haven't experienced a busy season yet. I plan on overhauling my amigurumi patterns. I don't feel like my animals are attracting the right attention. I get a few favorites every day, but have only sold 1 listed amigurumi and 2 custom. Hopefully my new designs will attract buyers!

I also want to add more higher-end items, like lacework and wearables.

I haven't sold anything since Nov. 15 and have just plain decided to give up!
I can't tell what I am doing wrong, I have re-titled, re-tagged, re pictured!~

I plan on adding some Valentine's and springy stuff to my shop. As well adding more general party stuff. Now that I've actually committed to getting this shop up and going.
