What do you do when USPS has lost your package?

I gave two large orders to the mail man on Monday because I had no time to hand deliver to the post office.
One has been delivered to customer and the other (the largest one) does not even show up in the system as received by USPS.
I think my package has been stolen by the very people that we should trust with our business.
WHAT TO DO? Has anyone had this happen before?

Report it to your PO supervisor. I had an issue once with a substitute carrier and they were extremely helpful. I spoke with the supervisor in person and she even gave me her direct # in case I had any other issues. It's good to be on a first name basis with the people at your local PO -- you will generally get very good service.

Hope it works out!

Just wanted to add... it is possible that nothing extreme has happened to it. It just may not have been scanned upon pick up, or it may have inadvertently been left in his truck. Be sure to ask without accusation and you'll likely find them very helpful :)

Re: What do you do when USPS has lost your package?

I had one package recently with tracking with no show of tracking to be found. Then I find it mailed back to me with no apparent reason. From the post office or any markings on package. Weird. Though just happy it found its way back to me to re-mail.

Go to your post office and speak to the Post Master. They will speak directly with that carrier and find your package. Odds are it is sitting in his truck or in the post office unscanned.

I think it's a pretty serious accusation to say that a postal worker stole your package. You shipped it four days ago during the busy holiday mailing season. Have you called the post office to find out where it is? Did you include a packing slip inside the box in case (heaven forbid) the box or label were damaged and unreadable?
