What do you do each day?

For those with successful shops, what do you do each day to improve and grow your shop? I keep reading things like work on seo, or post to social media, but can you be a little more specific? A general outline of your "work" day would be awesome!

Re: What do you do each day?

As brief as I can make this--

For SEO specifically, I've studied my market and my competition on Etsy and outside, and do so constantly. I change my key words frequently, updating to words that I never thought of before or that are now more popular. If you're not sure of what you can do to boost your SEO, I highly suggest joining an SEO team and reading as much as you can.

When a listing expires, I usually let it do so and it stays unlisted until I'm ready to tackle a listing overhaul. I have hundreds of expired listings that need to be revised. When I revise, I look at the listing images, descriptions, title, and tags.

For social media, it's really a matter of which platform works well for you. I play around with Facebook and instagram, but don't expect sales from them because I don't put forth full efforts. I've spent much more time on Pinterest, and get many sales from it.

My work day starts with answering emails, then working on orders. I answer new emails every few hours. I usually go to the Post Office around 4 pm.
I don't spend nearly enough time creating new products because mostly I'm fulfilling orders (most of my items are made to order and custom). I also don't spend a whole lot of time on marketing because I wouldn't be able to keep up with the workload of an increased volume of sales.

Re: What do you do each day?

I start every morning by answering emails and convos and processing my sales, both on and off Etsy.

Once I've set up a listing and I like the way it reads, won't change anything at all. As long as I have the stock I'll leave it alone. However, I'm constantly doing keyword research. I don't look at my competitors at all on Etsy.

As far as 'social media' goes, I'm active on many forums outside of Etsy that are related to both my business and my hobbies. I simply include my shop URL in my signature line (where permitted). My profile will always have a link to my shop.

During the day I'm ordering supplies, responding to inquiries, working in the shop or handling any of the other business details that need tending to.

Sometime around 4:00pm I'll start printing shipping labels so that I can do my packaging in the evening when I'm watching TV. I schedule a USPS package pickup for the following morning.

Later in the evening I'll pop into the Etsy forums and read the forum digests (as I'm doing now)
