What am I doing wrong?

So I've had my shop for over a year now, I have increased my inventory, worked on tags and titles, and have tried to work on my pictures. I have had 35 sales so far which I am very proud of, but I see other jewelry shops on here that have hundreds of sales in the same amount of time and it is a bit disheartening. Any suggestions on how to improve?

I am by no means an expert, because I am fairly new to the Etsy selling world, but just by first glance, it seems that a lot of your pictures are rather dark and shadowy. Your stuff looks great, it's just rather difficult to see some of it. Perhaps better, well-lit photos would help? The Seller's Handbook has some great tips for photography. I wish you the best of luck!

I think you should try using seo optimizer to help you with your seo. Your pictures are not consistent. Some are very clear with a good macro focus. Other are very blue with lots of shadows. Pick a couple or one backgrounds of the same shade and take time on your photos. Get lots of angles Nd different set ups then use an editing software such as Picasa, which is free online, to edit and lighten your photos Focus on a consistent look and you may find more success. Also, join a few teams on networking and do treasuries. That's a great way to be promoted, when you promote others!

Re: What am I doing wrong?

The pictures are probably the hardest thing for me! I'll have to do some reading up on how to take better ones and I will def look into Picasa... Thanks so much for your input ladies:)

Re: What am I doing wrong?

You can also search previous forum posts for pic taking tips. I've found tons of helpful info there. I think all of us, who are not photographers, find the pics part challenging, and many, many try on a number of styles of display before finding the one that works for them. Keep on, keeping on, Jennifer ;-) You've a full shop of lovely items.
Participation in treasury teams has really worked well for me, not only for exposure, but advice, critiques and support.

I am also new and learning as I go! :) I think you have a great shop, but I agree about the photos. I think the bluish tint takes away a little from the details of the merchandise. I think brightening up the photography will really help! Maybe try using outdoor light?

I love the hot pink skull!! So cute!! :)

I agree with the posts above, you need to improve your photos. It's the first thing people see when they visit your shop. And because our customers can't pick up and touch our items those pictures have to be engaging!

The second thing you must do is promote, promote, promote...Are you on Twitter, Pinterest, Wanelo, Facebook...it takes a lot of time but is a must.
