I thought it might be nice to have everyone post their favorite photo editing software here with some details to help others decide what they want to try.

Please post:

- The name and/or URL of the software you use
- How much one must pay to purchase / download it
- One thing you like about it
- One thing you don't like about it

I'll go first! :D

http://Paint.net
Cost: FREE!
Like: It works very much like Photoshop elements in most things.
Don't like: It does not handle text very well - when you edit text and then click elsewhere, the text flattens and then you can't do anything with it after that. Delete and start over. :(

Now I use Photoshop Elements 9
Cost: On sale for about $80 including video editing software
Like: Auto correct works great for most things
Don't like: Fairly steep learning curve if one isn't already pretty familiar with Photoshop

Re: What Photo Editing Software do you use?

I used to have Photoshop and loved the clone stamp (if I remember the name correctly).

Do you know of other programs which have a tool like that? I'd prefer if they aren't as expensive as Photoshop...

Thanks in advance.

I use Picassa. It is great for making banners, etc. I made picture collages of family members for gifts with it also and they turned out beutiful.

The software is free which is an added bonus.

I use Photoshop for most but also use Picassa. Picassa is also great for storing and organizing.

Dalim: Paint.net is a totally free download (I don't think you have to sign up for anything either. rare!) and it has a clone stamp tool that works very much like Photoshop :)

I use Photoshop cs5 and Adobe Lightroom. It has pretty good cloning and healing capabilities. It's very good at managing and organizing photos.

Re: What Photo Editing Software do you use?

Photoshop of course is awesome - but for those that dont want to spend the $ - if you happen to have Microsoft Office 2007 - Powerpoint and Publisher have some basic photo editing tools that come very handy! I use them all the time and honestly, I prefer to use these programs to design business cards, flyers, banners logos, etc.
