What Can Pinterest Do For Me?

I've heard that people get great views from Pinterest, but I still don't understand how. Is it just from other people pinning you? Does my own involvement on pinterest make a difference somehow? (I haven't pinned very much so far...I don't know why, I love the idea...)

For my other store, it hasn't done much of anything except bring some views. When I try to go see where people are finding my item, it usually is in people's "things I want to make" section....not really helping me make any sales.

For this store, it would probably bring a good market of people! I am still trying to build inventory, so I haven't started trying to promote too much, but once I have my goal number of items, Pinterest is on my list of places to promote! I think it is a good place for your items and your brand name to spread to people who are in your target market. :)

I like to promote my items there as well as other Etsians. I have several boards that are devoted to themes that my items fit into such as "My Future Dino Nursery" which includes my dino soaps. I've had several people who will follow the board rather than me as a person. I think it helps to get your items to people who are looking for something more specific but aren't searching Etsy.

I also use pinterest to promote my other shop and blogs and love it. I know some people don't like it and some items end up on "things to make" but overall my experience has been good.

I use pinterest mostly because it's fun, but I also slip in my own items when I have shop updates. The idea is that you get people connected to your aesthetic/taste, which should match your own products, and when you post your product, the people you've attracted should like it enough to click through. I pin every new item I make! I like I still don't really "get" pinterest, but I don't see any harm in shameless self-promotion :)

Hi everyone! As a new etsy seller, I've done thorough research on how to promote my shop (and my other ventures) and PINTEREST is by far the most effective. But, everyday, you need to PROMOTE your products in a way that's not too aggressive. Repin your followers to build TRUST and repin new people to gain Followers. It's FUN! And it's a growing community of BUYERS!!! It's still new so that's why it's best we start NOW before the masses come. NOW is the time - there are tons of buyers. 97% of all buyers are women between the ages of 18-40 (upper income). I've been doing my homeworks, as you can see.

I have made several sales from people that said they found me on pinterest. I pin my stuff and other Etsy stuff on there each day...

What can Pinterest do for me?

For me it has been an unending resource for new a delicious recipes, a place to have a virtual bookshelf, a place to bookmark gifts and things I plan to purchase in the future, I have a wishlist board that i plan to refer my fiance and family to for my upcoming birthday, and boards where I post art that I love *making sure to name the artist and make sure the links go where they should* and where I pin my own art to as well. I have gotten tons of views from pinterest but not sure if any sales have come because of it.

It's a lot of fun to promote my own and other people's work on Pinterest. I usually pin while I'm watching the activities feed. When I see something I really love, it gets pinned quickly, and that way, I'm not on the computer all day (just half).

I love promoting almost as much as I like creating my own work, so if I see something I especially love, I'm going to give that artist a little leg up by pinning their item. It's just another way to make a treasury except, here, you can also post some of your own items too.

It gives me something to focus my dreams on, kind of like making a virtual treasure map or collage of my likes and loves. And it tells my family where to look when they're guessing about gifts for me.

I do get views from Pinterest. I like that. So far, no sales, but I've just been there a few weeks and am still growing a following. I also hope those I've pinned are getting an increase in attention.

All in all, good. The one downer is the tendency to become addicted so I caution you to remain (somewhat) disciplined about how much time you spend there.
