So I had my 50th customer today (YAY!!!), and decided to have a small giveaway on my facebook page...

Hrrm. I got a whole lot of new likes, which is very cool. Just getting peeps to follow the rules of the giveaway has been a bit trying. Eh well. If you're looking to get more of a following on your facebook page, giving something away for free will, apparently, do that.

Of course! That is a excellent marketing strategy. However, you have to be smart when you plan the rules!

I've found that the ones who sign up for a giveaway aren't necessarily my target customer.

They are like sharks in for the feeding frenzy when the word 'free' is mentioned.

crochetgal -- You're probably right. I was just in a celebratory mood, and I figured it can't hurt to have the little facebook icon on my shop page show more likes, right? I think it could lend a feeling of credibility to potential customers. "Oh, people like this shop. Okay."

I had a fun look around your shop just now. Congrats on the new sales and stinks about the giveaway getting out of hand. Well, at least now you know how to make it better for the next time! I agree with @VaLon about having people share the picture to win. I think that's a great way to expand your exposure as well. Best of luck!
