'Views' to Success

Hi all

So I am working hard on my shop and thankfully am seeing an increase in views.... but I don't actually know what is good. Would be really interested to know how other shops are doing just as a rough guess eg you have about 100 views a month and 1 sale or 1000 views and 15 sales etc?? Or how many on an average day. I just feel a bit more of a benchmark to work to would help, and think others reading this would find that too. I think this would also help motivate more! I'm not really sure if there is a 'how many views = selling success' but if others are willing to share we may get an answer?

I don't think you'll find the "golden rule" for these things, should I be wrong let me know :)
I've had almost 3500 views in 2 and a half month, but no sale.
All I hear though is that it is different for everyone and every shop.

I believe the more views you get, the chances for getting sales are higher. However, if compare month of June and May, my June views drop about 60% just no ideas why?? Definitely the sales drop and getting super slow... Not sure anyones here facing the same issue for June?

I just found a new app for your shop's SEO, and I found it to be EXTREMELY helpful. Not only does it help you optimize for Etsy, but it helps you optimize for Google and the other search engines.

Use it - it will help you.

Re: 'Views' to Success

Views do not always equate to sales. You want to aim to be seen by the right market, which may mean that you don't get many views at all. I typically get much fewer views than what other sellers would consider normal, but during crochet season, I can barely keep up! Aim to be seen by people looking exactly for your product. Check to see what search terms are bringing visitors to your shop and make sure all of your tags are top notch.

To give you an idea (& keep in mind that this is my "totally dead" time of year), I had about 30 views TOTAL yesterday (shop & page views), but I had 2 sales. A few days ago I had over 100 views and no sales. So really, the number of views is all relative. It's really all about quality over quantity in this case.

As others are saying it is totally relative. I average about 70 shop views and about 50 item views a day. Yet I've only had two sales.

Thank you for the link, Erin. I find it interesting that my sales do not seem to relate to my views although I sure would like to get more views!

If views are important to in your shop research use Etsy shop value calculator. It will give you more stat information as to how many views + - = a sale. :)
