Very few views...:(

Hey Everyone! A little while ago someone posted in this team about wondering why they only had a few hundred views a day when so many other people had 600-700 a day...I am lucky to get 50 a day at this point... Any thoughts for how to get more views or critiques on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks!!

Views Don't mean sales! I know having a high number of views is nice but to be honest it only takes that one right person to purchase something.
My first impression of your shop was wow! It's lovely, I love to colours, the banner, the style is consistent so I think it's really nice.
I don't know what your like with social media but make sure you dedicate at least an hour a day to your social media sites by posting and uploading photos etc and get on as many as possible.
High views comes within time.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the encouragement, Maddie! That does help. :)
Amy, I'm mainly using Facebook right now. I also just started a blog and am on the wedding website Emmaline Bride. I've done one giveaway with a design/fashion blog and am about to do another one next week.

What are you doing on your Facebook page to engage your fans? You have to do more than just posting pictures of things once a day. I checked out your Facebook page and you also don't seem to have a lot of backlinks; make sure you link your fans to your shop OFTEN. I don't post a picture of a product without a link to that product so people can buy it if they like it.

I have a blog, but I don't love it. I get almost no traffic from it; not really even enough to keep maintaining the blog, but it's on my business cards so I keep at it just in case anyone gets my card and visits my blog, then gets turned off when the blog is inactive ;)

Marketing is a HUGE part of the job.

I like to take a few hours every couple of days to make the rounds on promoting new items.
Here's an awesome thread of places to promote for free OUTSIDE of Etsy:

Also, figure out your target market and promote to them. THOSE are the views that turn into sales!

Good Luck

Re: Very few views...:(

Views don't equal sales, that's been proven to me - I've had weeks where I've had hundreds a day, and never sold a thing, and when they dropped to like 20 a day, I sold a couple of things. It's about the right people seeing your stuff.

HOWEVER, my views have been atrocious for the past month and a half, eventhough I've added lots of new items this week, and while I remind myself that views don't equal sales, if people don't see your stuff then you can't sell it.
Unfortunately I can't offer much in the way of suggestions. Try tweaking titles and tags, and revisit photos if the need is there, maybe also renew some items and ask a blog or two if they'd be so kind as to do a feature on you, or interview you.
