Vacation mode

I put my shop on vacation mode and now that I'm back I am hardly getting any views.
Has this happened to anyone? I don't know what to do?

I think this happens so much of the time it discourages people from using vacation mode. Sometimes it's unavoidable, however. Hang in there!!

Sometimes it may take a little bit to have the viewers start looking at your products. If you use any social media, I would recommend going to your fans and letting them know your shop is up and running to get some viewers. Whenever they "Like" "favorite" or "Pin" something, someone else will see it and so on and so on :) Don't feel discouraged! Just keep your head up and stay positive

I heard that going on Vacation Mode bumps your views off Google and Etsy searches, but after about 2-4 weeks, your views are back again once you get crawled. If you have questions about it, you can email Etsy Admin

Hi,

When I went away, I decided not to put my shop in vacation mode. I wrote a message in shop announcements that any orders would be delayed until I was back. It seemed to work out fine.

If you opt to not use vacation mode, please change your processing times too, to reflect the delay!

I've used vacation mode several times - traffic did drop off for a couple of weeks afterwards, but did pick up again. I use vacation mode when I'm at a craft show/fair since my inventory is limited....if I had a lot more inventory and a lot shorter processing time for my items, I wouldn't bother with vacation mode.

I was on vacation mode for about 3 weeks. When I came back, I re-listed 4 of my bags and traffic picked up right away. Even got a sale.

Thanks everyone:) I am seeing a bit more activity. Maybe I will use it again when I go on vacation and just keep in mind that it will be slow to start up again.

I used vacation mode last summer, and what a bad idea that was! I certainly learned that changing my Shop header and shipping times in my listings is a more profitable way to go with vacation issue.

In reality, it took months to get my views back where they were, I was so depressed. That is when Google changed their search engine to Penguin.

What can really help is to list new items every day, spread them out during the week, don't list them all on one day. It helps Google and Etsy to get your Shop back up and running.
