Using sports team fabric

I'm just curious... what is the rule for using team fabrics for items?? I've seen lots of items made with various teams (and I've made a good deal but never listed), but I always worry about copy right rules.

I don't know how it applies to Etsy, but typically sports league logos are highly protected and you'd probably be setting yourself up for a copyright take down if listed.

In all of the arguments here on etsy and all the stuff i have ever looked up i cannot find anything legal that disputes what they say.

I have heard you can't use them on etsy. People do it, but I would not take the chance.

'Legal'ness and DMCA Take Down requests are in two very different...ahem...ball parks. Unless you think you have the financial backing to fight a sports franchise in court (which I assure you, you don't), there really isn't much you can do if they don't like how you are using their logo.
