I just have to tell someone how grateful I am for Etsy's shipping label feature.
I mailed an order to a customer across the country from me (CA) on Wednesday. The post Office mis-scanned the package and the tracking info said it was delivered to the Post Office in Michigan where I mailed it out of. This was a first class padded envelope. Had I gone throughout the Post Office to mail it there would be NO tracking option. Only Etsy gives us that on 1st class postage. Without a tracking number I would have been unable to tell my customer (she totally freaked that her package would not arrive) that I was able to contact the post office, get the mis-scan corrected and everything was going as it should and she could now see it's progress.
For those who have been holding off on using the Etsy shipping label feature - use it! With no tracking number, there is no help.
