Um... gulp... what did I do wrong here??

Yesterday evening I curated a treasury of some of my favorite Etsy listings, just having fun with it. Today however, I received a message from one shop owner who I had included in it.
The message read...

"remove my item from your treasury. don't come back to my shop."

And I've already removed the item as they requested.

I'm just very confused by their response... most Etsians are happy to have their items featured. I've made tons of treasuries and never had this response.

Am I missing something??

Also, I'd like to add that in their Shop info they have written "P.S. Thanks for the blog features, links and treasuries!". Now I am even more confused.

Wow. It's a mystery to me. It's a beautiful treasury and I can't see anything that might be offensive.

Could it be the use of "girl" and "girlie"? Not that it would bother me, but I have heard some people be bothered by "girl" (vs. "woman").

hmmm... I wish i would know the shop name so I never get into trouble with them! Sounds scary....rude at the least! It is a nice treasury! Perhaps someone else got into their account and wrote that to you...who knows?!

That really is strange. I might send them a convo, apologize for possibly upsetting them, and ask them if they would mind telling you what you did wrong so you won't make the same mistake again and upset some other seller. You might also mentione that due to what you read in their Shop info, you didn't think they would be upset. It's worth a try.

Hmm... Maybe?? I don't see how that would upset someone to the point of telling me I'm not welcome to shop with them. I sent them a message asking why. So hopefully they will respond with an explanation :S

I don't want to give out the shop name. I don't want to cause drama or anything. It's such a beautiful shop too! I'd honestly buy everything from it. So unfortunate.

Not that it's much of a reason to get upset.... but was your etsy convo to all of the shops very wordy with asking them to help promote the treasury list?

Sometimes I get put into treasury lists and the person sends me a convo asking me to fav it, share it with friends, click on everything, tweet it, put it in my facebook....and then they go on to explain their shop, give me their facebook page, their webpage...give me a discount code.....etc.

I just chalk this up to being overzealous, but I could understand other shops being annoyed by it.

I don't think you should let this bother you. If they reply, great, if not, forget it.

I can't imagine why she wouldn't want her item in your treasury as I think it is beautiful. You can add items in my shop to your treasuries any time you want :-). Maybe she had a bad day, or broke up with a boyfriend or something. Don't take it personally as you did nothing wrong.

How bizarre.... I also thought maybe she got annoyed if you sent her a convo (not that that justifies it- just I know some people don't like it esp if they think it's spammy....)

Do you make similar items to this shop? Maybe she thought you were planning of copying her or something bizarre like that?! You can see I'm clutching at straws lol- her behaviour is crazy!!

It's a lovely treasury btw!

Oh and I know you obviously can't identify the shop, but can you tell us if this is a successful shop?? Seems crazy that a new shop would be offended, and also weird I someone like this has been on etsy for ages making sales if they talk to people like that!
