Can anyone explain hashtags to me? How does the 'etsy-me' work?

hi there- the hashtags are to highlight a certain topic, so people searching can find tweets that all fall under the same word- you just put the hashtag next to it. I tried to find you on twitter but when I copied your name in there were no results :0(
