Treasuries and Coupon Codes

Two sellers are schooling me on how to better leverage their coupons and treasuries.

1. Seller sent me a private convo, thanking me for featuring him in a treasury and sharing a coupon code for 50% off anything in his store! Wow.

2. Seller added a comment to a treasury he was featured in, and included a coupon code for 10% off.

Isnt this a great idea? Its a wonderful way to encourage people to visit your shop and look over more of your listings. I'm going to go make myself a treasury coupon code now.

Personally, I find them both a bit spammy.

The convo is spam and against Etsy's TOU. The other guy - I would have personally deleted his comment from my Treasury. That's not the time or the place. But that's just me.

I don't see how it could be considered spam.

1. the convo was in response to my original message, letting him know that he was in my treasury.

2. what is the point of having coupon codes if you can't let people know about them?
