Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

Do you think treasuries are worth doing? Also, what is the trick to getting views and featured. I notice some people in other teams who create treasuries have like 1,000 views and the treasury was only created hours before.

I try to create 1-2 treasuries a month. I usually average 50-100 views but that's about it so it made me really curious if there is a trick, a list out on etsy of what their looking to feature, etc.

I like feeling like a curator and it helps me get to know other "etsyians". Plus I usually end up finding cute stuff for myself and family.

The ones with the large amounts of views are in treasury teams together.

There are teams you need to join and some of them have very strict rules you have to follow. You have to create lots of treasuries...if you have the time, that should help you.

I have created a few but I didn't feel they generated lots of views so I haven't created one in a long time. And it seems that most of them are of particular style to be picked for the front page.

I used to participate in doing them for a team I was on based on Movie Trivia. Which was fun, but basically just that, no sales ever came from that team. In my opinion they are a waste of time unless you really enjoy doing them, or they are aimed at your target market.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

I knew their were teams. I've received invitations in the past but I didn't know that's were they get all their views. if that's the case then I definitely don't have the time to stick to their rules. I Like doing treasuries because it also exposes my shop to other shop owners and this past year my best customers have been other people who sell on Etsy but I'll stick to my 100 views lol

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

I find making treasuries stressful and time consuming so I make them on rare occasion. Not my thing.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

I make them only when the mood strikes me. It brings my shop (as the curator) a few extra views and likes but nothing spectacular. I don't do it for the promotion. I do it when I have nothing else to do. I would never join a team. It sounds like too big of a commitment. I'd rather put my energy into my shop, not into making treasuries.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

My treasuries have resulted in nothing that I know of for the people featured in them or for myself. I generally make them to share bright imagery with others. I make them to show support to my friend's art too. It's a fun way to share love to other artists... but besides that I don't know much more.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

Not very many looks or likes, but I do one on occasion to show off the special talents we Etsians have, and as a thank you for you all, and your support

Oops, a little Southern crept in with you all.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

Are treasuries worth doing? That depends on what you want to get out of them. I curate treasuries simply because I enjoy delving through shops to find items that will fit the theme.

The treasuries that get the most views are ones that are promoted either within treasury teams or within teams in general.

Personally I curate treasuries because I find it relaxing. I've had a few reach the FP and have been featured in a few FP treasuries.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

I've been too busy to commit to a full on team so instead I just make the occasional treasury related to my product and do the whole Post 1 Favorite 10 thread for some initial clicks but that's it.

Re: Treasuries- Tips and Tricks

I try to make treasuries more often but they can be time consuming and I never get many treasury views even though I post mine in treasury teams and threads. I do get some pleasure from compiling treasuries though and discovering other peoples work.

I heard that the treasuries with hundreds and thousands of views get those views from something called a 'treasury bot'. Not entirely sure how you get a treasury bot or what you'd feed it but the views from them are not genuine views but generated by a 'programme' or something else technical??? I believe the reason for using these bots is to get the attention of Etsy in the hope that the treasury will reach the front page.

I agree with Crochetgal when she says

Personally I curate treasuries because I find it relaxing. I've had a few reach the FP and have been featured in a few FP treasuries.

I do see results , when I go back and check my treasuries weekly , I see that there are usually sales of the items I have used from the shops, and even some of my pieces that are featured by other treasury makers sell too.

I keep my future treasury items in the list maker and it works great.

But it is not for everyone.
Have a good day.
