Treasuries - How Do People Get So Many Views?

I'm thrilled if I make it to 80 views over the course of a few days (with the aid of a team tag and a few posts in promotion threads)... but I'm seeing treasuries with 1500+ views in 2 hours!

How on earth is that possible? I've checked the tags, and although there's usually a team tag, I can't see how that alone could drive the views up so high. I understand when it's a BNR, with people constantly checking for new comments, but how does a regular treasury get so many views so quickly?

If you let me in on the secret, I will be forever grateful. ;)

Many people post in multiple teams,post it to Facebook,message friends to come view it. Also if you create treasuries using the key tags from etsy's merchandising desk,lots of people are searching treasuries using those key words and that will help your views.

Hi, I used to wonder the same thing too. I joined TAGT team...Super cool and very helpful team and if you check out y treasuries, I have had upto 700+ views..all thanks to team... so it is important to be in a team where everyone supports each other

When you renue or relist an item all of the views and favorites seem to come along, so it looks like there are MANY views instantly.

So this may be a stupid question - but do the number of views correlate to being featured on the front page? i.e the more views, the more likely of a feature?

I get 50 to 300 views for every treasury I make with few exceptions. I have not hit over 1000 yet, but I have yet to have one go to the FP either. I try to
1. pick items with really great photos
2. pick from shops that are in a lot of circles
3. pick from shops that have high sales and a lot of feedback

When I do a treasury I send a convo to all in it asking them to tweet it to their followers, post it to their facebook, blog about it and most importantly to favorite it. When you favorite a treasury it goes into your feed and everyone in your circle has the possibility of seeing the treasury and looking and favoriting it. It kind of goes viral.

I also post it to every team thread about new treasuries.

Visit my shop and have a look at my treasuries and see what I mean. I also generally try and put every person that puts me into a treasury in a treasury of my own. It is a way to help spread the love. So, if you put me in a treasury, eventually I will return the favor.

I don't know what makes one treasury get more hits than another...i made one last night and I did what i usually do...i posted it in my teams treasury thread and then posted it on my FB page & I tweeted it. I do that w/ every treasury....except last night one of my treasuries went from 1 view to 500 in a minute...I have no idea as to how it eventually had over 1,100 views. And then I have other treasuries that didn't break 20 views.
I don't think that the number of views or comments gets you to Front Page...but it will get you closer to First page which is great as well.
I had a treasury that had like maybe 10 views get the Front page.
I think making creative thoughtful treasuries helps.

Good question. Lately my treasuries vary from between 60 - 100 views.

I had one treasury get over 2600 views, but I'm really not sure how that happened. It was a 4th of July-themed treasury over 4th of July weekend, so I guess it just got a lot of traffic becuase of that.

When I first started making treasuries, I just created them and that was it, and I got about 25-30 views. Definitely a difference after I joined a few teams and got a bigger circle.

You definitely should email everyone that you added to the treasury and ask them to favorite it, post it, share it ,tweet it, blog it and more.

Let everyone you featured know that you made the treasury, tweet and facebook, and use treasury promotion teams (like the TPT team, Clickety and Click and Comment). I actually was just featured on the TPT team blog and wrote about treasury making and promoting:

Not all of my treasuries get a lot of views, but the ones that do are ones that I promoted immediately after I made them. They get hot right away because they had lots of views in a short amount of time.

My treasurys usually get only a few views, like maybe 30. I don't like to post links to my treasurys mostly because I think of it as spam. I just make them cuz sometimes I see an item that inspires. Does making treasurys that have lots of views even make a difference? Has anyone gotten sales as a result? It just seems like those would be few and far between to concentrate so much energy on making a FP treasury. If you've had experience that proves me wrong please let me know.
