Transaction cancelled, fees refunded?

I have a bit of a weird problem. I had a buyer yesterday message me asking if they could buy two of one of my items (As I only had one in stock). I said of course and said tomorrow I can make those and update the listing for them.

Then she thanked me, and bought one of the items saying in the note that she would like two of these and there wasn't the option to buy more than one. I messaged her to confirm that I don't have more than one in stock and if she buys another one separately tomorrow she won't get the discount for combined postage, so we cancelled the transaction for now.

However I can't seem to work out whether it's refunded my fee or not. The item is still in my 'sold out' orders and there is money in my fees 'to pay'

Go the page that shows the order. You should see a note saying that the order is pending cancellation. It takes a couple of days to get the fees back.

I just send the buyer a coupon for free shipping (or reduced) if they want to order something after they've already sent an order.

Dani, what Richard said.

Sometimes I prepare a "Reserved Listing" for cases like yours (or if the customer decides to buy something else right after they send the first order and it has not been shipped yet) and I just change the shipping to 0.00.
