Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

It's a "sister" site of Etsy that features things for children only.

Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

I think so. I just signed up so I'm not exactly sure how it works. You have to apply. Here's the info from the "join" tab (an application follows):

Join EtsyKids

Interested in joining the EtsyKids Team? Please read the following information first.
Requirements for joining the EtsyKids Team:

Your applicant shop must be an active member of Etsy for at least 3 months
Your shop must carry predominantly baby/children/kids items. Although we do not require that a strict percentage of your items be comprised of baby/children/kids items at all times, we do review and determine applicant eligibility on a case by case basis by reviewing both active and sold items.
You must have a minimum of 10 active baby/children/kids item listings
You must have excellent feedback ratings
We reserve the right to deny anyone membership to EtsyKids if we have reason to believe they are not complying with Etsy's Terms of Use.

Once approved for membership:

Active participation is required. It's important for members to frequently check in at our Ning network, so you can get to know other members and keep up with team activities.
Members are required to make one (1) contribution to the team each quarter. Team contributions are made by promoting the team via social media, blogging, treasury curation, advertising spot purchase, etc (in depth information is provided to our Members regarding contributions, these documents are contained on our Member only Ning Network). Those who do not participate in this manner once every quarter will be removed from the team and unable to reapply for a full three months (one calendar quarter)
Once approved for membership it is not transferable, if you have additional shops on Etsy and would like them to be considered for Membership you must apply for membership for that shop and it must meet all requirements as stated above in order to be approved

Things you should know about the EtsyKids Team

The EtsyKids Team is a large global team, with members in nearly every part of the world. In an effort to connect our members with Team Mates in their local area, we have set up 14 Regional Groups. All members are encouraged to join their Regional Groups on our Ning network.

There are lots of fun and easy ways to participate in and contribute to the EtsyKids Team. From blogging to curating treasuries, from monthly design challenges to our seasonal shopping guide, there are plenty of ways for members to become involved.

Being a member of the EtsyKids Team can be a very rewarding experience, but it is up to you to make the most of your membership.

Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

Wait, is it a "team" like a traditional etsy team, or is it it's own website? Honestly, that'd be just weird a website for all children Etsians. I personally hate kids, obviously not my kids, (People where shocked I had them!), but kids in general just annoy the HECK out of me. Call me cold but when girl scouts show up on my door step I just shut the door, if I said anything it wouldn't be ANYTHING nice. And people always reply "Well, you were a kid once?", Yep. And I hated it. I hated being a kid, I hated being around kids when I was their age, I pretty much "Grew up" really quickly. Besides, people don't take kids as seriously, I mean, if you get the item and hate it you aren't going to leave bad feedback like you would for an adult.

Just the thought of kids having their own etsy annoys me....

Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

Looks like Etsy Kids is just another Etsy team for sellers that sell kids items, not a team of underage sellers! Etsykids.com just has items from its team members, so if you're not part of the team your items won't show up there.

Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

Yes, Ann's right, it's a team for sellers of children's items. Not a site where kids have their own shops.

You're welcome, Jessica! Glad I could help.

PS- You don't HAVE to pay for spots. It's just a smaller-ish team that has a page where their wares are featured. It's just a place for buyers to go when they're specifically shopping for kids. It's a more narrow field because not everyone who sells children's things is on that team. If you sell stuff for kids, it's just another way to get noticed.

Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

I thought traffic from Etsy Kids meant that your item was clicked on from the new "Discover" categories. It's not?

Re: Traffic from Etsy Kids??

girlandtree- it might be! You have to be signed up for the team "EtsyKids" in order to have your items show up there. If you're getting views from Etsy Kids and aren't signed up for the team, my guess would be that it's coming from a new "discover" category.
