Tracking numbers?

Do you do tracking on your shipments as standard? I like to know where it is, and make sure that they received it, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra expense. What works best for you?

Absolutely. If you print your labels thru Paypal it is much cheaper than the 80 cents charged by the PO.

I always do deliver confirmation for the tracking number. I include the tracking number on Etsy when I mark it as shipped. I even (if I have the time) keep track of it and send them a quick message in the morning once it's Out For Delivery, so they know to expect it that day (I had another seller do that for me once and I loved it!).

If you are taking payments through paypal, you have to use delivery confirmation. If there is a dispute, paypal will want that number for proof that you sent the item out in good faith and that your customer received it. Really, this is not optional. Just do it.

Delivery confirmation (tracking) is free if you print through Paypal.

you can always print labels through paypal, even if the customer doesn't pay through paypal! I always send everything with delivery confirmation

I track every shipment, I use paypal and most of the time the tracking is free

I think the only time they charge on Paypal is for Parcel Post, and then it's only $.19. I think it's well worth it.

It's worth the expense. It lets both you and the customer know where the package is.

Okay, that's what I was thinking. But I've ordered a few supplies recently through etsy, and they haven't included it, so I wondered if it was just me. :) But my mail scale just came yesterday, so I'm going to start using paypal for shipping. So that is great to know. Thank you!

Absolutely! I always get tracking, for my peace of mind and the customer's. It's worth the 80 cents to be able to know where the package is.
